That didn't take long.

I think we may need to get a mod in here to explain to us what is and is not appropiate an thread as the rules of the forum just simply don't cover that ;)

I think we should ask the media to explain all this to Tad.

The floor is yours Andy.

So Kurt left to avoid anymore issues and Marty Smith went after him knowing what reaction he would get? Marty Smith is one of the very few media members I respect but don't poke a snake just to get a story.

Don't forget he went thru closed doors to get to him. Wonder if he would have peeked over a bathroom stall wall????

When nascar.com fires you like they did Marty there's not many choices left. I think marty must have pictures of an espn producer in a field of sheep.

Fired? Leaving for the greener pastures at ESPN was great move. Marty is normally the best reporter working the NASCAR circuit.

Marty's a great reporter. I'm not a big fan of his move in this situation, I can't say I would've done the same thing. But it's Kurt being Kurt, he had an obligation to be present in the media center to answer questions. He can't break that obligation he doesn't want to answer questions about his suspension (which IS a story).

Not a Kurt fan but he had already indicated he didn't want to talk.
I realize the top three are supposed to do the press conference, but if Kurt decides not to do that or walk out that should be resolved by Nascar, not the spurned press.

I am all for a press loaded with reporters that know how to think critically and who are not fluffers. But there should be a rule no comment means no comment, and there are times when driver needs to recompose.

His sponsor/owner or Nascar might demand more but the press needs to respect the boundaries.

Typing on the i**** is a pure comedy, I can't wait for iPhone 5 and a larger screen.

Or you can just buy an Android device and actually have a decent operating system. I would suggest a Galaxy series phone from Samsung like the Galaxy SII or III. Or if you want a pure android experience you could go with the Galaxy Nexus which I have and love!!

My Android (Aria) quit charging, now on a temporary 3GS. I like the Android keyboard better, but I haven't had a problem with the 3's. Almost identical, except the android has the period on the main panel. I have more problems with my desktop keyboard. Looking at getting an HTC Vivid or LG Nitro next month.

back on topic, I blame Marty on this one. First, for creating a story out of his own eagerness, second for saying that screwball line.

Thats your opinion which means squat to me. An insider was quoted as saying that he stepped on the wrong toes.

I agree but the press respects no boundaries. It's all 1st amendment and the publics right to know krap they spew when they go over the line.
