Not one of the worst Indy 500’s, but certainly one of the strangest I’ve seen.

A favorite shockingly wrecking out happens in maybe two out of every three 500s. What is it that’s supposed to have gone so wrong here? I would agree the race could use a green flag run to the finish now.
I sure as hell wouldn’t want to be leading on any restart moving forward. Dixon and Malukas have gotten mugged the last two times.

Indy Car cat update? Since our last update. she ended up having her infected anal gland rupture, so at that point, it was time for the cone. Having never worn one before, she actually took it really well. Despite not being able to be a normal cat right now, she’s seemingly doing really well! She’s getting her nap out of the way now so she can be wide awake for the 600.

OK, Daly remaining in serious contention for this long is cool stuff. A lot more meaningful than the prior instances of him leading for a bit in prior years.
The top three right now are really doing some impressive racing.

Bear with me a moment because the quote isnt a 100% match, and Newgarden isnt a coward in any sense he is absolutely one of the greats.
But being in a bad spot can force unusual errors. Some great quarterbacks will throw a last-minute interception, etc., when they are behind in an almost impossible situation and it is make-or-break time.
Maybe Newgarden had outperformed his car all day, knowing that his car wasn't fast enough and just took too much of a risk? Or maybe I am overthinking it.

I think you're over thinking it. The car was competitive all race.
Regardless of how this finishes, this has been a fantastic and composed performance from David Malukas in his very first Month of May for the Captain at only 24 y/o.

35 laps under green? Sounds unrealistic.
I'm not read to write off everyone on the alternate strategy yet. Too many guys for all of them to not make it.

I'll tell you what. Mick is on the back of the lead group. He's been solid and kept his nose clean, really solid performance from him.

Rosenqvist has been saving from the outset. This is going to be close.
