The 150 greatest albums by wimmins

"No one can snarl "F*** you" like Courtney Love. Not now. Not ever."

No one can set up there significant others murder like that either

Amy Winehouse was my middle school crush.

I own Frank and Back In Black, she was gorgeous, but drugs did her in and you can hear the difference in her horse vocals between Frank and Back In Black.:(

It's a more than decent list. There are artists that are over-represented and foundational ones that are listed too low. But a good 80% of this list are albums anyone with an interest in popular music should hear.

Nice to see Lucinda Williams in the top 20, I’ve seen her about ten times.
Definitely some ladies missing from the list.
K.D. Lang - Shadowland (Produced by Owen Bradley)
Beth Hart
Etta James (or did I skim past her?)
Lots of older country stars...Loretta Lynn, Reba, Dolly, Patsy Cline...

Yeah. Have to agree that's absurd.

I didn't think her music was bad at all, she was more "experimental" than anything else. I found her videos to be quite interesting as well, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around rock in general.

Kellie Willis 'What I deserve' should be on the list.

"She Ain't Me" by Carrie Rodriguez is a brilliant album that should be in the top 150 IMO.Had the privilege of seeing her live 3 times.A couple of tunes off the album.

Lucinda Williams "Essence" is not written as a sensual song. But good art can be interpreted many ways. I think it is the most sensual song I have ever heard in my life.

I remember the first time I have heard Joan Baez do "Diamonds and Rust". I still stop to listen every time I hear it. It is so simple and pure. A great voice.

This here is the way a country song should be done.

Melissa Benoist is playing Carole King in a Broadway show. I intend to go see it when I get my new Toyota.

Favorite album by a woman for me is Harmonium by Vanessa Carlton.
