The Announcers Thread

It's yet another misdirection. The post isn't about Mexico City. It's about a Fox Nascar deal to broadcast 90 races from all three series to Mexico and Latin America. It's a big deal, not one race in many years that was very expensive for all involved compared to a broadcast of 90 races from one network covering multiple countries.

Jamie Little, Eric Brennan and Brent Stover will all split PxP duties for NASCAR Trucks. Brennan and Stover to handle ARCA.

Jamie Little will call the Daytona Truck race.

I don't know anything about the other two, but they can't be any worse than Jamie Little.

I don't have a problem with Jamie. Do I think she's cup level talent? No, at least not right now, but she does a good job for the trucks. Not sure if she goes any further, but she's carved out a spot

I like her more during ARCA on FOX when she's giving background about drivers when FS1 does their equivalent of Through The Field.

I had high expectations for Jamie, but her truck announcing has become gerbil level atrocious.
When she starts acting like she knows what the driver is thinking, or gives examples of what she used to do in a race, I join ya, but right now she isn't close to gerbiltom lol. It takes a special kind of stupid to get there, and Jamie is a sharp gal that does her homework.

Mike Joy and Kevin Harvick are fantastic.

I wish they'd either just use those two, put Larry Mac back in the booth with them, or put Jamie McMurray in there with them. Clint Bowyer would probably excel as a pre-race co-host, but he's worse than Rusty Wallace in television PxP which says something.

I went ahead and subscribed to FOX One yesterday.

For those wondering, it's actually not bad. It's $19.99 which seems pricey but that gives you all FOX Sports programming and access to the Fox Sports app, live feed of your local FOX station, live feed of FS1 and FS2, and for those of a certain political persuasion, it also has the Fox Noise Channel live and on demand.

It's ... not bad. I hope Versant follows suit and gets something going for USA Sports, though it sounds VERY unlikely. The only plans they have for streaming is to launch a streaming service for MS NOW.

I felt Nascar was in a no win situation with the weather and TV telling them we ARE going to run the race no matter what.
Imagine if 40 years ago someone had told Dale Earnhardt that one day the Cup series will race at Bowman Gray, on ice.

I signed up today. I usually watch NASCAR on Sling so this will save me $25 a month for the first half.
