the announcing has changed so much since 2001

Announcing in all sports have changed. Part of it is evolution of the median, some of it is to cater to a younger fan base.

i hate pre race shows. 60-90 minutes? i mean come on now

i loved the ol days when espn would come on at 12"00 green flag dropped at 12:15

ill take a longe rpost race show

I am used to it now but you can normally tack on about 25 minutes or so after the network signs on for the cars to be actually racing. IDK what the pre and post race shows are like now as I haven't seen one in years. If they are still basically talking to drivers that say "we got us a good chips ahoy/chezzit/northern bath tissue Ford and even though we didn't qualify well we are good in race trim blah, blah, blah it is not something I care to see. If the post race shows are like drivers saying "the Energizer Bunny/Target/Dawn Dish Detergent Chevy ran well today but we just didn't get the finish we deserved. We'll get 'em next week" blah, blah, blah I don't need to hear that stuff either.

i dont but if i dont have plans and want to watch the race i find it annoying to have to constantly flip back czuz we neevr get an official start time

nascar comes on at 1200 race starts at 125

They have a countdown clock on the pre-race show saying how many minutes there are until the command. Jayski posts the start times every week. The TV guide says "NASCAR Pre-Race Show" or "NASCAR Countdown to Green" for pre-race coverage.

It's a staggering burden we must all bear.

You appear to be holding up reasonably well.
