Wow!:eek: With numbers 1 and 2 (Mizzou and West Virginia) losing. The teams that wind up in the championship game is almost anyone's guess. Ohio State, Ga, Kansas, LSU, VaTech, OK and USC all seem to have a reasonable chance, some of course better than others.
What a ridiculous year in college football!
 
What a crazy season! I am thinking it's going to end up being MY BUCKEYES and LSU. That will be interesting!
 
Another year in which the championship game will go to a team that people vote in. Here's another real shame. Missouri, who will have only lost to one team, albiet twice, will not be BCS bowl elligible because there can only be two conference teams in BCS bowls. OU will of course be in the Fiesta Bowl, obviously no one of the voting public believes they are of championship callibre for some reason, and that will leave Kansas, a team with the same won/loss record as that of Ohio State, playing in an "at large" possition in the BCS bowls. Mizzou will be left out. Hawaii, who is undefeated, seems to be left out totally, but I can understand that because of their opponents. Georgia...should they play for the big title not having won their conference?

It's going to be another one of those years when the champ will always be remembered as being #1, but the also rans will always remember that they should have had a chance as well, but didn't because someone "voted" for someone else.

And remember this about the voters. At the beginning of the year, they always have the first poll of the coaches. Steve Spurrier always gives Duke a vote at the #1 spot, always. So maybe we should give Duke a shot at the title for once.
 
I think that this is a year that no matter who plays for the championship there will be unhappy fans......and lots of them. :)
 
I think it's funny that the BCS is about to implode. Now don't get me wrong, I love the bowl system. And, a playoff system as things are now set up just will not work. The Pac 10 and the Big 10 need a championship game to level the playing field. But until the NCAA decides to step in and get behind this Div1 mess there is no answer. There are too many teams to have a good playoff system. Its not like BB where they can play back to back games. There is not a good business model they can show the schools that will replace the money the bowl system pays out now.
Everyone likes to point to the Div1AA's playoff system. But, the money is not there and the ACC, for 1, is not going to walk away from $8M per school so there can be a playoff. Nor will the other conferences. Notre Dame recently changed their deal so they don't have to make the BCS to get a healthy payday. Under a playoff scenario they'd get nothing this year and that's going to be hard to sell.
Oh, and it should be tOSU vs VT.

Oklahoma vs. West Virginia Glendale, Ariz. Jan. 2, 2008, 8 p.m.

FedEx Orange
Virginia Tech vs. Kansas Miami Jan. 3, 2008, 8 p.m.

Allstate BCS Championship Game
LSU vs. Ohio State New Orleans Jan. 7, 2008, 8 p.m.

I can't say I really dissagree with too much of these choices. It does seem a little bit screwed up that LSU gets to play the National Championship game at home though. :rolleyes:

VT continues to rotate QBs and that is all that slows them down. Glennon torches the Jayhawks by 10. I'd rather have Mizzou here

What happens when a very fast football team on both sides of the ball meets a team about as fast as molasses in the winter? LSU dominates both sides of the ball but the officials get involved to give the game to tOSU

I can't believe LSU is in the National Championship Game. With 2 loses? Go figure...
