As of 7/11, the most DNFs by a single driver is 4. The list of these drivers is kind of interesting.

Drivers with 4 DNFs
Byron - rookie
McMurray - this is a little surprising since he is usually Mr. Consistent and points into the playoffs each year
McDowell - this seems about average for him
Bayne - 14 starts
LaJoie - Only 9 starts (Start and Park?)
Sorenson - Only 8 starts (Start and Park?)

Kes - 4 DNFs, no wins, leading the points race of drivers without a win, kind of surprising
Blaney - surprisingly still in the playoffs with 4 DNFs but has a comfortable cushion

Drivers with 3 DNFs
Harvick
Truex
Kurt Busch
Larson
Hamlin
JJ
Chase Elliot
Menard
Newman
Allmendinger
Kahne
DiBenedetto

A Good mix of drivers, top tier, mid tier, and lower tier.

Like to see that list revisited after the plate races are dropped.
DNF's and wins at plate races should not be included in a drivers resume.

It's appalling how much overlap there is between these lists and my fantasy teams. :(
I've learned that through doing crash stats, a lot of the drivers who wreck the most are the ones who run the best, my theory is because they know they have the car to compete they push harder and get in more trouble.

That may be but there’s no way I’m starting Burrito this week!

I think they have a Larry Mac saying for that. If you ain't wrecking, you ain't racing. There is a lot to that I believe. Wheel holders seldom push it. Guys like Larson is a great example of one who doesn't have the best equipment but he over drives the heck out of it anyway.

Should be a big list of those with DNFs after Daytona. Heck there was so much carnage created by Stenhouse that Nascsar couldn't find anyone to penalize this week.
