What artist or song that is on your mp3 or iPod would surprise people the most?

I'm not talking about really obscure artists that other people on here have never heard of, I'm talking about somebody who just seems to be out of character for you. Like say, if you are a metal head most of the time, but you have some Kenny G or somebody on there? My range is personally pretty wide, but some of the following may surprise people who know me.

Avril Lavigne
Orianthi
Ice Cube
John Denver

How about you?

Well, I've long considered myself a metalhead (altuogh I do listen to things like Talking Heads and the like as well) but the last couple years I've taken a tremendous liking to bluegrass.

Lavigne really? That's tough man, how do you explain that one lol.

I have a few songs that have people like  you listen to this? Heck, I sometimes wondered that myself.

Bruno Mars
Joe Purdy
Mama Cass Elliot
Willie Nelson

As it turns out I do like some folk music. :)

I'm only into rock and music scores these days. I feel the latter has a very calming effect on me.

Actually, it started when I had a younger girl come to take guitar lessons off of me a few years ago when I taught at a local music store. She was really into Avril Lavigne and wanted to learn some of her stuff. I fully expected to hate it, but Avril was just so sexy and her music was just pretty irreverent for the genre.

Artie Shaw, Percy Faith, Sandra Rivers & Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Yo Yo Ma, Newton Waylon...
My song library has Metal, Classic Rock, R&B, Soul, Classical, Alternative, Country, Pop, Reggae and zero Rap.

Nothing really surprising on mine. I'm pretty well rounded when it comes to music. Put my iPod on shuffle and it will go from Jason Alean, to Disturbed, to Run DMC, to Johnny Cash.

Me, too.
Can go from "Dirt Road Anthem" to "Ten Thousand Fists" to "Rock Box" to "Cocaine Blues".

Based on what I've posted on in the "On Going" songs thread, there's probably not much I can say I like that would surprise people here.

I guess you can also call this the guilty pleasure thread.
From a guy who digs heavy metal, hard-core country, and rap, I suppose a soft rock song such as this may raise some eyebrows.
Love the Earl Campbell jersy in this video.
Now, that's old school

I seem to be like most here with my taste of music running the gamut. I'll go from Charlie Daniels fiddle to Vanessa Mae and her classical jazz/fusion, from Elvis Presley to Jimi Hendrix, from Dr. John to Strawberry Alarm Clock to Stark Naked to Neal Sedaka. Or how about the New York Philharmonic to Led Zeplin?

Now and then on Saturday night we have some friends who spend the night with us. We usually empty a few bottles of wine and then we turn our attention to Youtube and pick a song that we want to hear. We really have fun and get to hear some music we haven't heard in a long time.

Tony Orlando and Dawn, probably the biggest oddball in my collection.

Hey Buck! I pop in from time to time just to see what's going on. There was a time when this place was like family for me. Have to check in in you guys. :)

I have to say, that qualifies as an oddball entry. By the way, speaking of unexpected surprises, it's nice to see you Dee.

What? You don't like "See You In September"? I think I was in love in South Dakota when that song came out. Oh the memories.

I've got "Little Egypt" by the Coasters. But I have anything from the 60's, 70's and 80's, country bluegrass, hard rock, soft rock and some swing. It just depends on what I'm in the mood for. And a few songs I don't even know what they are ( for the grand-kids).

Armin van Buren....listen to techno a lot when I work out.

I don't know man. I just remember the TV show and how cheesy that whole thing was. Knock Three Times was alright for the time, but I can't imagine wanting to relive the experience.

I like Knock Three Times, but the song I have is Candida, since it inspired my name. I also have Melanie A Brand New Key, some if you may know it, another oddball.
