The way NASCAR distributes race winning$

I just don't quite understand how NASCAR determines how much a driver makes per race. Here is an example: Mark Martin came in 11th and earned $90,450 (qualified 26th). Ricky Craven on the other hand came in 18th and earned $97,225 (qualified 34th).

I know in certain instances that more is given to previous champions (drivers and car owners) and to polesitters... but in this instance, I am left scratching my head.

Does anyone know a website that helps break down how winnings are paid out?

What I find really crazy is the money that the Busch drivers win. I know it's not the Nextel Cup but what a difference. :(
 
Yer right. Maybe that is mosty why I get all bent and twisted
when I see all the Cup guys in the BGN races and winning
all the pittance that BGN pays. Even that small $$$ could help
a BGN team, but the $$$ is so small, the Cup guys could just shrug it off.
Oh, well, just another pet peeve of mine.
Admittedly, I do have a few. LOL

You can make more money by getting in the cup race and parking it after 1 lap, than to win the Busch race. Very confusing to me :huh:
