The worst 5 drivers to pit for and why?

Good post.

AllenBabba is on some serious double standards here.

Kind of hard to take a guy serious when he tries to paint a guy who's known to be a douchebag on and off the track a saint. And then goes on to talk pure garbage about some other drivers? Yeah you have no credibility with me buddy.

There's a surprise. :sarcasm:

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I enjoy AllenBabba's posts and they seem genuine to me. I'll be upset when he gets sick of reactions from you two and stops posting.

I usually like most of your posts but you buying into his/her bashing of Jeff Gordon really surprises me.

I didn't think he was bashing Gordon.

And I like Jeff. I know that some of his fans get a little too sensitive when he is critiqued....much like Junior fans.

If you reread the posts you may see that he/she got angry at a JG fan asking about things other than KuBu and went ballistic and posted the tall tales about JG, which are pure fiction. See posts 14 & 26

He's not bashing Gordon. You are just mad because you have the mythical image of Jeff Gordon that's divorced from reality.
That's "your" opinion and my image of JG is far from idealistic, also I'm not angry I just don't like unrealistic bashing of any driver and this is no place for one of your pissing contests.

I just went back to those posts Johali and IF its true I found them interesting.

I didn't consider either of them a bash..... :idunno:.

I ain't looking for confrontation......so I'm gonna crack a cold one and jump in the spa for a while and chill. :)

My posting? I made 2..

One addressing how he once said he'd never throw anyone under the buss because that's how he is and the other one to call BS on the Gordon being held hostage. That's looney stuff man.

Opinion is opionion and I get that but when you go to great lengths to prove some fishy stuff? Eh.

You're cool and my book and I'll take this post as just one of the many we will have to disagree on. Carry on.

When he's in a bad mood, there's about a ten minute window where you don't want to be anywhere near him. It's bad.

After a poor qualifying run at the first Richmond, he stormed into the hauler, threw his sunglasses, and shattered them into a million pieces. After he stormed out, Todd Berrier (with help from a few other crew guys) picked up every single piece - then Todd actually super glued the damn thing back together. Every little piece. Shattered glass and all. It was amazing to watch. He stuck them in Kurt's locker when he was done.
Good luck in Kansas.

Allen 's posts are a real highlight around here . I hope he has a thick skin and just walks away for a few days . There is really no need for him to debate his opinions with anybody .

Tony Stewart is up there alright but he has a right to, he pays for his and 3(?) Other cars and crew.

And what's Allenbaba going on about?

Harvick is in the right place on the list. Several years ago when his contract was up for renewal from RCR (not this most immediate past time but the time previous to that) he was looking to join either SHR or JGR. I don't remember which race it was that season but it was at contract time and KH had just blown up at his pit crew during his post race interview, blaming them for his failure to win the race (blowing up at his team wasn't unusual for him back then or even now for that matter). SHR was not adding any new cars at the time so there wasn't any room for him there at the time. According to the article I read at the time, J.D. Gibbs was prepared to offer him a contract at JGR but his dad, Coach Gibbs vetoed it saying that he didn't think they really wanted someone that dumped all over his team in public the way Harvick had just done.

So.....with SHR closed to him at the time because of no driver openings and JGR apparently closed to him because of the way he treated his team, KH stayed at RCR for the term of another contract. As we all know, this last time his contract was up however, he was successful in getting to SHR.

I'll bet Greg can come up with a plausible theory to support Gordon being held captive.

Immediately after reading your post I commissioned my best people to investigate matters, and the following relevant points are the findings.

The theory of Helton and France having a skeleton in the closet on Gordon is not plausible.

It just sounds to X File-ish to me, Aside from meditating on how Gillian Anderson licks her biggest challenges, I could never asribe much credibility to such plots, again noting the exception of how Gillian Anderson licks her biggest challenges.

During the investigation we coincidentally learnt that the University of Notre Dame had Kennedy assassinated in 1963. In order to keep Roger Staubach off the cover of Life magazine, after he led Navy to beating Notre Dame. But we cant correlate or abstract that to France and Helton getting one over on Jeff Gordon.
As another aside Hendricks and Penske are the illuminatis when it comes to Nascar.

About Gordon being a happy driver, maybe he isnt, I dont think he has the enthusiasm he had in the 90s, after all he is older. But I wouldn't read anymore into it than that, we just dont know and speculation apart from my scientific findings would be riddled with flaws.

I knew our resident sleuth (when he is off of the sauce) would get to the bottom of this.

Well speaking of Kyle, Samantha must be house breaking the beast. Today on RaceHub brother Kyle was in the * thros of Epiphani-gasimic joy, as he was thanking the Lord for helping him this year.

Kind of reminded me of a young Brooke, I mean Jeff Gordon thanking the Lawd in the 90's (he was faster when the Lord was helping him then too).

Anyhow I look for Brother Kyle to become one the friendlist drivers to pit for soon. Kyle will be on the radio saying " may God bless you all for the good work".

*thros may not be a real word, just felt right
*Upmost respect for Samantha in her church girl attire.

Being a psychology student, she's the best thing that's happened to Kyle since he left HMS.:D

So they hired Hamlin and Busch?

Dont see why everyone is angry at Allen Babba, seems legit to me.

Anyways from what I've heard my list would probably be like this:
(note I am not counting Robby Gordon as eligible, but if he was, he would be number 1)

1 Denny Hamlin
After the last 6 months, this one needs no explanation.

2 Tony Stewart
No idea why he was included on best drivers to work with. Dude is a dick.

3 Kurt Busch
When he's nice, he's a great guy. When he's not...lets not go there.

4 Kevin Harvick
Pretty calm most of the time. Probably because he takes out his anger on his crew.

5 Clint Bowyer
Dude supposedly is an a**hole to work with and uses his sense of humor to hide that.

The story of Gordon being force to be in NASCAR sounds legit to you? lol

Agree with your list btw. Tony ain't no picnic but I guess you have to make him mad first. Those others just key the radio for the sole purpose of being a jerk which is why they get listed.

Jeff has been driving in NASCAR for about 30 years. As anyone who has had the same job that long can tell you the job becomes automatic. He did say a few years ago he'd quit when he wasn't competitive or he didn't enjoy it anymore - I don't remember his exact quote.

I also like Allen's posts and hope he continues to do so. If people are going to get butt hurt about this stuff, then too bad, just deal with it and move on. It's just a forum for opinions nothing more than that. We all have our own views and opinions and we are entitled to those.

Personally I think the notion that NASCAR is forcing Gordon to continue racing is preposterous, but I'm not going to get all upset about it. My own theory is he's upset because of his teams performance the past few years. He's had a lot of crappy races and been in a lot of wrecks (many of which were not of his doing) the past couple years and I'm sure he's frustrated as hell about it. Especially when he see's JJ winning a lot, it probably ticks him off.

I agree . I also think a lot of professional athletes get kinda locked in to their e.g. Jeff Gordon Inc. . They literally have hundreds of people working for them in merchandising , managing , marketing ,running charities , etc . So , you end up with Jeff Gordon ..the brand .. and when ever he decides to retire , all of his employees are pretty much out of work. It has to be a heck of a weight to have on ones shoulders .

False. So you're saying after Dale passed that his merchandising and marketing sales halted? Nope. As long as there are fans of the driver products will be sold and the "brand" is still alive and you need employees for that.
