They need to switch back to the old points system...

Hmmm, that guy in your avatar made a good deal of money and he didn't even finish high school. Education doesn't automatically give you a key to the penthouse. I work with a guy who has a masters degree and what does he do for a living....carry mail. Maybe those guys are all uneducated buffoons, but they are doing okay.
Yep...their all doing ok.....$$$$....Overall revenues are waaaaay down....Have'nt heard if any of the NASCRAP EXECS have taken a pay cut....BUT....They did lower purse payouts....I.M.O....The direction the sport is going with these guys at the helm SUCKS.....Watch what they do if/when some driver starts to distance himself from the rest of the pack with regard to the points battle....You will see these guys use thier only tool left to manipulate the racing.....pit road speeding with no proof other than their word.....:(....After the Hamlin/Newman penaltys last season...NONE of these drivers will voice an opinion thats not INLINE with the NASCRAP way of doing business......:p

You are a fairly newcomer here but surely you have seen the gazillions of posts that have said exactly what you are saying. You might even say that these guys should unionize, but that has been tried before and failed. However, to get back to what I responded to has nothing to do with the future of the sport you say sucks. But maybe it takes a PhD to know if it sucks or not. Who knew? For over 40 years, I'm still a fan. Only two years of college though. Just call me a redneck.

I did'nt say the sport sucks...I said the direction they are taking the sport sucks. No doubt others feel the same way as me. Everyone says the economy is the biggest reason there are no fannies in the seats...most likely their right to a point....Although at home viewership is also waaaay down from 7.85 million per race to under 6 million per race. If the attendance at last weeks Bristol race was'nt an eye opener, nothing will. Yesterdays attendance was estimated at 36,000..looooool..no way were there 36k people in the stands at the race I viewed on t.v....We will all see reality hit when the T.V. CONTRACTS are up for renewal....They paid 4.8 billion $ for the 8 year pkg back in dec-05...I'll bet the next deal is nowhere near those #####

Somebody will be stupid enough to step up and pay more.

They should just make it a 36 car field...NO PROVISIONALS...You qualify on time...If the points leader crashes during qualifying, they're OUT...Never in the history of sports has there been a sanctioning body with the lack of education that NASCRAP has....France, Helton, Darby, Pemberton, none of them have a college degree...mega-billion $ industry run by UNEDUCATED BUFFOONS....
You won't get a single word of argument from me over that.

I've always been one who believes that a college education from most colleges is highly over rated. Sam Walton didn't have a sheepskin and look what he built.

Schools such as Purdue or Stanford for engineering, Harvard and William & Mary for law, Indiana or John Hopkins for medical, MIT for math or science, Cornell or Notre Dame for business, Alabama and Duke for jocks, and Berkley and Columbia for community organizing, impress me for the product they put out, but some of the rest...Not so much. In fact, I would rather hire a fairly intelligent person without a degree rather than hire one from some "Institutions of higher learning" I can think of.

What you state above, especially the first sentences, are things which I have advocated for at least fifteen years.
