The top few rows in turn 3 give you a 95% view or so. That's where I normally sit.I like everything about the so called Pocono weekend. I'm considering going, but honestly, is there any seats there that you can see the whole track with binoculars?
Also the ARCA stuff could be fit into Friday's schedule but either way I wouldn't mind seeing an ARCA race for once.

I should clarify I mean top few rows of the 200 level. I think those are $80-$90. 300 level is club seating which is under cover and you get your own restrooms.$175 for today's race in that section (300 Level - Section 337-352) you are talking about... a little more expensive than NHMS, Sonoma & LVMS (off StubHub)... I'm interested to see the ticket prices for next June.
I'm sure the place doesn't fill like most races on the schedule these days, but Pocono seems to be a decent draw I notice so I'd still probably need to lock that in.

This.....It’s a points paying race that determines...oh NVM. The Championship is decided by the biggest gimmick of all in the Ford Homestead-Miami Bowl. So what’s another gimmick right? I don’t like it, I’m tired of the gimmicks but if it works I hope that it becomes a staple of Pocono and allows for it to remain on future schedules. I like the track, really unique place so if this gimmick saves it so be it.In a time when track position means more than speed at the track that track position means the most, an inversion after 350 miles is quite the gimmick.
Leave this kind of stuff for non points paying events.
So is Saturday's last place finisher the "pole winner" for Sunday or is the only pole winner for Saturday's race? I thought they hinted that the shootout in Daytona has run its course, so this might mean its ultimate demise.
As far as the field inversion, it should be quite interesting to see how the teams that normally run several seconds slower get out of the way. Maybe a couple drivers who already have a win prior to Pocono or those who badly need a win, will develop a bad vibration at the start of Saturday's race...hmmm
This is good. Really good. Let's do it.Now if they ran left turns on Saturday and right turns on Sunday...

“What can we do to distract everyone that we scheduled two races back to back at one of tracks fans voted their least favorite?!”
Racing itself is all gimmicks. When they made a track, it was a gimmick. When they built walls and guardrails to bounce the competitor into oncoming cars, it was a gimmick. When they made rules to make it “fair”, it was a gimmick. When the cars were built in shops as opposed to factory, it was a gimmick. The fact you sit in a seat and watch a closed course is an entire gimmick. Jesus people gotta bitch about everything.
A smoking hawt trophy queen is the greatest thing ever. Fast cars and hawt wimmins is such a natural pairing. The nutured culture crusade to eliminate the best things in life should be a criminal act.
... Years ago Nascar had a race where wimmen got in free if they wore a bikini.
I'm not opposed to the idea of a double header, but I'm not sure I would have picked Pocono as the place to do it. There IS a precedent for this though. In 2003, the spring Pocono ARCA race was rained out, so we ran a Friday-Saturday double header on the summer race weekend. It was kind of fun, but over four days, I think I got about twelve hours of sleep. My idea for NASCAR was a Friday night-Sunday afternoon Bristol-Martinsville double. I think THAT would have been a lot cooler than two at Pocono.
Big fish eat little fish. Pretty sure the powers that be are trying to make Pocono a "happening" like Watkins Glenn. They obviously think the event will draw more attention doing it this way.

I'd rather see them run Poconos road course for the second race. Inverting the field will just result in wrecks as those cars are not used to being upfront and the ones that are will be coming quickly. Going to be a disaster I think.
I hear ya. But apparently there are relatively few who see this deal as losing a race weekend, although certainly there are some such as yourself. Jordan Bianchi in The Athletic quoted track president Ben May... "I mean the beauty of this thing is, historically we only have about 25 percent carryover from race to race. So in essence we have two different crowds. It’s not like 90 percent of our crowd comes to both races and there’s a risk involved, because there’s not.” If that 25% number is accurate, it's definitely a good sign.I certainly wouldn't call this the greatest thing ever. For many of us who attend Pocono we're losing a race weekend. Not only that the Cup races will be shorter. I knew they would be for months having talked to some people who are associated with the track via local sponsorships. If you're more interested in the party/camping aspect (think music festival) then this setup likely for you. However, I'm not one of those people. I just got for the Cup races.
