All single car runs if they were from the am. Any idea what they've been running in the draft this afternoon?

All they're doing is trying to maximize usage of the two car tandems. This effing sucks.

Just pull the damn plates off and run the chicane.

Two car tandem is still the fastest way around, and the cars are to Fast.......expect more rule and restrictor plate changes.

Hard to fault the drivers for taking the fastest way around the track. It'll be interesting to see/hear what changes they make now. It's too bad those NASCAR engineers don't subscribe to this forum so their problems could be solved. ;)

Only interesting thing I see today is with the new changes a tandem dosent seem to be able to "draft-up" on another tandem nearly as well as before.

Oh and the FI has been Flawless!

Did you know Danica Patrick's running the Daytona 500? I would've never known had it not been for SPEED reminding me every five minutes.

Why this sudden change to tandem racing after the repaves, anyway? I didn't follow the sport as much in the last few years and I never quite understood it. :/

Not the repaves.Since the COT.The front and rear bumpers line up now so they can get away with pushing eachother.

We don't have to hear about it on Speed near as much as we hear about it on this forum.;)

Not the repaves.Since the COT.The front and rear bumpers line up now so they can get away with pushing eachother.

Exactly before the COT's the front and rear bumpers did not align, the front bumper was lower than the rear bumper. You could draft real tight or gently lean or momentarily smack the front car, but if you tried to consistently push you lifted the rear of the front car and things got Really Ugly.

With the COT's you can push as hard as you want ALL the way around the track........really fast but not alot of fun to watch in most fans opinions.

From what I'm hearing tomorrow NASCAR will increase the restrictor plate size 1/32nd, decrease the grille openings some and reduce the releive valve on the cooling system 5 psi.
I guess they want us to be going faster before the crash?

Hey, NN...

You should have used the 10 car! 7 is her N'wide Number! lol

:D

Definitely a combination of the repaves of those two tracks adding grip as well as the current car configuration. We didn't see this type of racing before the repaving of those tracks even though they had already been running the COT. It wasn't all that long ago that NASCAR was warning teams for bump drafting in the corners. Fortunately, IMO, that failed attempt of 'judgement call' racing went by the wayside. I think that this era of tandem racing will end soon enough when they move to the new body styles next season. Until then, I don't see much that will be done to stop it.

Nascar hasen't showed me anything so far still two cars are fastest and that's what the drivers are looking for the fastest way around the track. Now they are going to open up the plates to go faster. And make them run hot so they will blow up.

202 and getting faster

New Denny Hamlin spotter said: Looks like we're gonna line em up & run about 20 laps of "old school"pack racing at 1:00 today.

Let's see how long that lasts.

The more cars on the track the faster the two car drafts will be!

NASCAR is asking for ALL cars on the track for Drafting "practice"

yeah, they want at least a 20 car pack

Glad to see everyone made it through the session.
Wouldn't have been surprised to see a million dollar junkyard after it, though - even though they're professionals. It got pretty tight at times, there.
