Tickets not selling

Personally, I like the sport. I like the tracks especially the older ones, I like how competitive it is , I like the double wide restarts , I like the wave around and I like the chase format. Noone outside of the top ten ever had a chance anyway. I am glad that all those johnny come lately fans have departed. They weren't race fans , they were fans of one driver . When he wasn't winning , they left. I don't believe that the racing was better twenty years ago , because I was watching it then. Watching the Dave Marcis' and the JD McDuffies riding around laps down, and hoping to see them win again. I saw Richard Childress starting and parking cars to give Dale Sr a better chance to win a championship. Not much has changed, except a lot more cars finish the race and most of them are on the lead lap. There are still some "fans" around that we could stand to lose. That might not make the racing better but it would make this forum more enjoyable.

The double wide restart is something i wish they would have done a long time ago, i love this change.

Ted, I too remember "the good old days" when races were won by laps, not seconds.

I love my chosen sport. I may not like some of the changes that have been implemented, but since I cannot change anything, I watch.

I would go to races, but right now MONEY is the problem. I was a plank owner at Texas, but had to give up the tics because the cost was more than my property taxes --- since I need my house, the tics had to go.
Since traveling anywhere would involve lots of money, I have to watch TV.

My chief complaint is that TV seems to think I'm more interested in seeing their latest and greatest gadgetry than the race. Having Tim Brewer constantly show me brakes/shocks/tires during the race gets old.

It's a hell of a lot cheaper to attend a ball game than it is a NASCAR race.

Not for a NFL or NBA game. It's easily $100 or more for a ticket to a good NFL team. But when your sales are going down, you need to decrease prices. More money can be made at selling 120,000 tickets at $60 each than 75,000 at $90 each.

I wouldn't attend an NBA game if it were free.
If you are not on the 50 yard line NFL tickets aren't too bad. I wouldn't recommend attending a Raider game, though. The majority of Raider fans and the biggest bunch morons out there.
One terrace seat at Las Vegas Motorspeedway and a garage pass will set you back $425.

That depends on which team it is and how old or new their stadium is. I've been looking at getting Colts tickets in Indy and even the nose-bleeders are high in price. But they are sold out too.

I think it depends on the product. These successful franchises sell out all their games. When racing was better, tracks sold out their races except for places like Atlanta. Here in Knoxville, the University of Tennessee sold out every home football game for years. But since the program has gone down and they're winning 8 games a year instead of 11 or 12, they can't sell all their tickets. Their game against Alabama in 2008 looked like a Bama home game with all their fans that bought all the remaining tickets. It was embarrassing and what got Coach Fulmer fired. With the drop in popularity, attendance, and ratings for NASCAR, Brian France should be fired. But he's running a family-owned business.

I have attended Bristol twice, the night race of 2008 and the spring race of this year. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, however, I feel that it would have been better to be there before the track was changed.

With that said, I have never bought a ticket to Bristol. Both of these tickets to the races I attended were gifts. Bristol tickets ARE too expensive! PERIOD! My wife and I prefer to attend Martinsville, we get great seats for $40 bucks each and they offer a pre race track pass for $10 that allows you to walk on the straight stretch, sign the wall and the start/finish line. It is pretty cool for decenly cheap.

I would attend way more races at Bristol if I could get seats for 40-50 bucks.

I would say there are more, like me, out there who can go to a track that isn't too much farther away for a ticket that is alot less.
