$140 in "returned item" fees this week, even though the money is there. I've spent $28 this week, had $120 in the account and now my entire account has been wiped out.

Last week, my employer's check bounced and I was told it would be $47 in fees. That was all taken care of. The next day, after they took care of it, there was another $70 in "returned item" fees.

Simply put, I'm paying an overdraft fee every time I make a purchase even though the money is there. Been trying to talk to them all morning but their relationship bankers have been at lunch every time I call.

Still waiting on the bank to get back to me.

What's next, a $35 "account surplus fee"

Pissed.

The employer's check bouncing would concern me. It may be time for a new employer and bank.

The employer took care of all that. They had the same thing happen with them, one of the advertisers' checks bounced and you get it.

The bank's relationship bankers have been at lunch all morning.

The **** has been taken care of, the money is there -- now the money's not there to pay bills because they've wiped out my entire account in bull**** fees.

An employers check bouncing, regardless of reason. means it's time to move on,,and I wouldn't lose sleep over not giving a 2 week notice either.
Every small business runs into cash flow problems from time to time, that's when you take it out of your pocket or go to the bank for a 30 day loan. I never gave an employee a check that'd bounce.

And now my car's ********ed with no money in my name to get the parts needed to fix it.

Thanks for wiping out all my income BB&T.:sarcasm:

I would say "What can happen next?" but that's usually the question people ask before people get struck by lightning.

BB+T sucks!

Found that out a long time ago when UCB bank was taken over by BB+T.

It didn't take me long to decide that I didn't want them as my bank. (about 2 months)

Andy, you give ouy way too much personal information on a public forum.
Be thankful you don't have a mortgage, insurance, town taxes, electric, gas, cable, truck payment,401k,health,dental,race tix, camping passes, grandkids, wife,or a host of other things to worry about.
I hope everything works out for you.

I dont really want to jump in your personal business, but honestly if my employers paycheck bounced, then im bouncing right out the door.

The writing might be on the wall and you might want to start looking for something before they close shop.

I'll be thinkin about ya though.

why are you paying fees for your employer's bounced check? aren't the fees charged to the person/company writing the check? this boggles my mind. get a different bank...and employer.

Sounds like your employer needs to take care of ALL your bounced fees..HE caused it He has to fix it.
BTW...How can the money be there and you not get it?????? Sounds like your bounce fees depleted your whole account

Sounds like he wrote checks thinking his pay check had been deposited and because it bounced he didn't have the funds to cover checks he had written. No matter it's doubtful his employer will be paying him the fees.

Sorry to say Andy but it's your responsibilty to have the funds in your account when you write the check.

I don't do online banking with either of our banks but I do access our accounts several times a week to monitor our balances.

I couldn't get anyone to tell me why I was charged an overdraft fee on TUESDAY when the funds for every purchase I made were in the account. Tuesday's overdraft fee is the reason the money was not there to cover the bill payment I made... When I made the payment, the money to cover the bill was there.

The whole argument with the bank earlier was pointless... the dude just wouldn't tell me why I was charged a $35 fee on an 80 cent newspaper when there was $235 in my account at the time. Simply put, it takes 10-15 minutes for them to figure that out and they didn't want to make the phone calls to figure it out (dip**** didn't get to finish his lunch I guess).

These banks are so out of touch, being open six-seven hours a day, taking two hour lunches and basically telling their clients to piss off if they don't have a business account with a $3.5 million surplus.

And yes, the bounced check business concerns me. As soon as another job that will pay the bills and/or have enough flexibility on weekdays for me to be able to fit in ONE college class opens up, I'll take it. There are no jobs down here.

Oh, and blaming stuff on the "North County" branch (that I don't go to) doesn't go very far with me. BB&T is still BB&T, the money's still in one central location and they all have access to the same information.

Guess that's what I get for expecting decent customer service when some dip**** is in the middle of a three hour lunch break.

Easy solution so this never happens again to you, save $1,000. Deposit it but don't add it into your check book. $3,000. would be even better. My dad taught me add up all the bills you pay every month then save up 3 months worth and never let your checking account get less than that amount. Three months worth because in case you loose your job you have 3 months of money to keep you afloat.

lol, nobody uses checkbooks anymore, i think. yay for online banking.

(But yes, I have 3.5 paychecks stored away in my savings acct)

Say what you will but this on-line banking, allowing a company access to your account, isn't for me. It's my account and I don't want anyone else messing with it. I will go to the utility, cable, credit card, etc companies web site and make the payment from there. Or I'll send a check in the mail.

Learned my lesson when I changed car insurance companies and the old company continued to do the automatic withdrawal. Went through he77 to get a refund even though they acknowledged I had cancelled. Rotten bastages.

You can do online bill pay without having anyone access your account other than the bank.

I use it all the time and it saves a lot on postage.

I don't ever let anyone have access to my checking account for any automatic bill pay.

North county says the overdraft from this week appears to be a mistake. If it is, I'll be reimbursed that and the other fee since one directly caused the other.

Got charged another bounced check fee ($35 fee on a $61 check) -- balance in my account AFTER the fees: $355.

I'm officially pissed off something fierce.

"You were misinformed about the overdraft fees, which appears to be the reason the money wasn't in your account to cover the other checks"

Yeah, that "misinformation" has cost me a **** ton of money. I'm feeling entitled to every cent back since this is all on account of their dumbasses, plus I'm feeling entitled to some severance pay before I switch over to Bank of America.

PISSED

I pay all my utilities at the Kroger grocery store that's 1 minute from my house, all my major credit cards have bank locations close to my house, I only mail out 3 bills a month.

I don't want to hear any mother****ing excuses.

All I want to hear from their asses is, "you ain't got no problem Andy. We recognize that this is a result of our trained "experts" giving you bad information that, had you had, this problem would've been taken care of. Sit back in your chair, relax and wait for the REFUNDS which will be posted to your account DIRECTLY."

You don't get it your bank isn't making any money having you as a customer. Your one of those customers that doesn't and probably won't keep thousands of dollars in their bank for them to play with. There's a good chance they are trying to get you to move on to some other bank. How do I know this? Experience.

Hell Yea

The banks wonder why people hate them, well here's a list of reasons.

1.) They steal peoples' money any way they can.
2.) They gamble investors' money in "risky investments" and lose.
3.) They then go to Washington and demand BILLIONS of dollars from taxpayers.
4.) After they get their money, they continue to make up BS fees and change their policies to screw the people over even more so they can repay their bailouts.
5.) They continue to funnel money in to risky investments and continue other risky procedures that caused the entire global economy to crash overnight in the first place.

I've been told The Bank of America has gotten a lot better and I've been told PNC Bank is actually pretty decent.

We found out today that our credit union changed their routing number last week and didn't tell anybody. Debit cards have been fine, but the few checks my parents write have been coming back ISF. CU changes routing number, old routing number on paper checks no longer work. CU says they're covering all the fees, and said to use debit cards when possible while everybody has new checks printed.

Think your pissed now? Go to Bank of America and get back to me in a year.

Go to a local credit union. Ten+ years with the one I got when we moved here and my only complaint is they quit sending out calendars. Now that really fries my oysters.

I have had no problems with Chase and I don't have thousands of dollars in there.

Yeah, I've been with the local credit union (Langley) for over 20 year. Never a problem.
