It looks like I'm in the minority here, but I have no desire to see the #3 back on the track, and if I did, I would only want to see Jr. behind the wheel of it (never gonna happen again). I've read about the #43, but that's not even close to the same situation. Sr. didn't just retire like Petty did. Sr. was a living legend. Sure, that would bring back some good memories for me, as well as many others, but it would also bring back one huge bad memory every time I saw it. I personally don't want to look at a car on the race track week in and week out and be reminded of death each time I saw it. Let that number belong to one man, and one man only from here on out. Don't tarnish the #3 by putting another driver in it the will never live up to the man that last drove it. There will never be another #3, so let's not put a #3 out there again.
