Todd Parrott is another moron

I love the guy , and all the family . But something never did sit well with me about his abrupt departure from Yates . Anyone remember what went on there ?

Didn't James Finch walk around the garage with a white cup in hand all the time?
The only place he went with a drink using his hard card was after practice, qualifying or a race was shut down which was and is allowed, he was and is careful about that. Anywhere that didn't require use of his hard card was where he did the cup deal.

Agree its hear say but Brian France crashed his Lexus into a bunch of palm trees a few years back and walked home. You, me, and everybody else knows he was drunker than cooty brown.

Wait..that sounds like what Michael Waltrip did a few years back. :lol2:

Crew chief Todd Parrott said Tuesday night on Motor Racing Network’s “NASCAR Live’’ that he’s sorry for his actions, which caused him to violate NASCAR’s Substance Abuse Policy and lose his job at Richard Petty Motorsports.

“I was in a dark moment and it happened,’’ Parrott told host Eli Gold.

Parrott declined to reveal what banned substance he took. NASCAR indefinitely suspended him Thursday. Richard Petty Motorsports officials stated Tuesday that Parrott, who had been Aric Almirola’s crew chief, was no longer with the organization.

Richard Petty said that “there’s no room in our organization for that. It’s definitely zero tolerance. These guys are putting their life on the line. The guys on pit road, they’re putting their life on the line.’’

Almirola said he has talked to Parrott since the suspension.

“I told him that I supported him, and I just want him to get better and get back on track,’’ Almirola said Tuesday. “He’s still a good person. He’s still a good crew chief. He made a mistake and now he’s got to bounce back from it.’’

Gold asked Parrott during “NASCAR Live’’ if it was a long-time issue or something that happened that caused Parrott to be suspended.

“It’s just something that happened and my number came up,’’ Parrott said. “Not a whole lot I can say. I feel bad about it, and I’m sorry for it and I’m ready to move on.’’

Parrott said he’s scheduled to meet with a counselor Wednesday to begin NASCAR’s Road to Recovery program.

“I have the support of my family and a lot of friends in the garage to go down this path,’’ he said. “I’m sorry it came down to this, but it’s a blessing, too ,that NASCAR has a path that helps you ... to be able to get back to work.’’

Parrott had been at RPM since 2012, working with Marcos Ambrose and then Almirola. Parrott has 31 career Sprint Cup victories, including the 1996 Daytona 500 with Dale Jarrett. They teamed to win the 1999 series title.

Richard Petty Motorsports also announced Tuesday car chief Greg Ebert will be Aric Almirola’s interim crew chief the rest of the rest of the season.

I always found that odd, Winston? No problem, Casino? No problem but beer? Nope, very odd.

More trivia: The anti-alcohol angle held by "The King" comes from the matriarch of the family, Richard's mother, Elizabeth. She has always had a firm anti-alcohol position and in the years Richard raced he refused awards from Anheuser-Busch if he won the pole.

And as an added bit of trivia, "The King" did not have a decal for the Busch Pole Award on his car, thus making him ineligible for the award should he win the pole. His choice.

Maybe he hitched a ride back to his motorhome on Randy LaJoie's golfcart, and they stopped to say "high" to some fans. Again.

Have Randy Lajoie and Todd Parrott ever had an affair with the devils lettuce?

Todd's all "I'm sorry I screwed up, take responsibility for everything" but he hasn't said where he strayed as far as I know.

And I hope he don't, that'll fry some nosy asses on here.

As I said, may be none of my business, but I sure am curious.

Think about it though, hypothetically, a top tier crew chief or driver gets popped.. YOUR driver. They tell the world they're sorry and are seeking treatment but you don't know for exactly why you can't root for them on Sunday.. That wouldn't chap your ass? If it's a major player in the sport, I feel like fans have a right to know.

Just a difference of opinion, I personally think It's none of my business because Nascar is handling it and will continue to handle it if It gets to be an ongoing problem.

NASCAR will definitely deal with it. I'm confident in that.

Todd has been hired by Tommy Baldwin Racing to CC the #36.

He and Allmendinger did the right thing...a shame Mayfield could never do the same.

Tommy Baldwin is quietly building a decent little team. Looking like he might be the best of the rest when it comes to non-cup contending teams.

It's only natural for fans to wonder what substance a driver or team member was suspended for when he fails a drug test.

But even though they are public figures, they still have the right to privacy just like everyone else.

Fans have absolutely no right to know.
