All of this outrage over someone typing Toni and yet the Gordon fans have long endured digs without surcease and few, if any, came to their aid by admonishing those posters. Is this board just now becoming enlightened or are the digs at Gordon to be tolerated while other drivers are sacrosanct? Just wondering...
Thank YOU barelypure.

Not wishing to prolong this topic, but "barelypure" has made an interesting observation and deserves an answer.

This specific bit of slander has NOT gone unnoticed on this forum as in the past there have been posts on the topic involving different drivers.
It should not and does not make a difference who the person is. No one deserves to be trivialized by the use of fifth grade bathroom innuendo.

The original poster has shown a lack of respect for others on this forum with their reply and obviously knows they are wrong as they offered an apology to a Tony Stewart fan.

One can only hope those who think of posting this diatribe in the future will understand it adds nothing to any discussion other than to aleinate others and show the posters actual age, not in years, but in level of maturity.

Maybe "barelypure" has touched on something that has come into its' time and in the future, others who find this sexual innuendo objectionable will take a stand and just say "no more".

I've been trying to stay out of this discussion. It has always ticked me off (in various ways) when childish inunendos and snide remarks are made about any driver..........especially the sexual referrences that crop up occassionally. So I'm with whizzer here. You can express your dismay or dislike (I would hope no one really hates any drivers......though, I've been assured that, at least, a couple members here really do :( ) of a driver or team without resorting to slanderous or nasty comments. It's the sly, subtle and often very underhanded remarks that really get under my skin most........you object and everyone seems to jump in with "aw, get over it.......grow thicker skin". It goes on a lot......it makes it hard to post back and join in on the discussion. It almost locks out any chance of some of us voicing our opinions.

And that's my two cents................now I have a question:

Can I still call Jeff Gordon "Jeffy"? That's my affectionate name for him because my Cutiepie24 loves him so much!! Actually, I used to call him Cutiepie just for her!! :D

Jeff will always be CUTIEPIE

and DE dear for the record.........YOU DO CALL HIM CUTIEPIE..... :D :D :D

Whizzer, you do have a knack for getting right to the point and expressing a reasonable and non-confrontational response to those who need it. Thanks and I wish I had your skill.

DE, great post and thank you!

Now let's just let it go. I believe the whole point is moot.

Oh, DE.....Quite honestly, "Jeffy" does bother me, but far than "Gordo" and other inane things he has been called.

So now I have to start calling him Cutiepie again? EMP already thinks that's............ "just wrong"!! :D

I can't call him just Jeff..........I mean, there's Jeff Burton, and Jeff Green. Then there's Gordon........but how do I distinguish him for Robby Gordon? My, my.............now I have to come up with another affectionate name for one of my favorites!! Poor me. :(

If someone wants to call Jeff Gordon, Mr. Sexy, Flash Gordon, Jiffy, Jeffy, or Wonderboy, it makes no never mind as those identifiers are used in fun.

A person who chooses to use remarks or innuendo questioning or challenging sex, race, religion, creed or geographical region, uses them for one purpose only, to antagonize !!!!! That is why it is offensive.

Ya'll, 'scuse me, youse guys sorddid it out frum here, I'm going to bed.

I never said anything that questions Toni Stewart's sexual preference,U did,I wouldn't do that as Jeff Gordon's had that crap said about Him from almost day 1 in this Series and it's clearly wrong IMO.
I already said that I use the "i" as a little dig,not meant to bash Him or anything, despite some of His actions both on and off the track in recent years.
I will continue typing His name as such, unless the PC crowd is really that outraged about it,personally it's not a big deal to Me ^_^
I apologized to Mrs.NASCAR20 as She's a fellow poster that I know is a huge TS fan and just wanted to assure Her that the "i" was not any attack on a fellow poster on a personal level ;)

Yes,MODS please close this thread

No More!

You may think you're being cute, but with as many people stating objection your continued use of the "i" isn't a dig at Tony, but to the fans that are objecting to it.

24Thunder, no need to apologize to me. I have to say being a Tony Stewart fan and Jeff Gordon fan I don't see the problem with using "i" instead of "y". I didn't post before because I felt this thread was getting out of hand.
I think we all need to relax and have fun :D , this is a discussion forum.

As nascar20 said, this thread is getting out of hand. Several folks have suggested this one be closed. So, I'm closing it.

Let's all continue to discuss racing and it's various events in other threads. :)
