Top 5 Threats

Funny you mentioned Hamlin. He's been dog crap ever since they got out of Daytona. Not impressed.

That's why I mentioned Edwards instead. Neither is too good but I think Carls better

*My Toyotas have some work to do. They will be there, but just not now. Fontana will be a measuring stick. I expect improvement. BTW....I included Larson because he has been faster than I expected (looks like the equipment might be sorted). Gets through a race without rookie stuff, and you might see him smooching the trophy girl (wait, we don't have that anymore--but you get it).

Who do you think so far are the top five drivers to watch after?

Here's my list.
1. Dale Jr.-May be biased cause i'm his fan but three consecutive top 2's? With a win? Self explanitory.
2. Brad Keselowski- Penske cars have been fast so far. A win and a couple top 5s. I expect him to be inthe final four later.
3. Kevin Harvick- Really fast cars so far. Running up front. Freaky Fast! lol
4. Joey Logano- Penske cars have been fast and he's been up there. Had a pole. I expect to see him win within three races.
5. Carl Edwards- Think he's had good vehicles. Could get a win soon.

Whay are your top 5?

Jr. usually fades... if he starts having trouble he loses rapport with his team. But maybe they can stay together this year.
Brad is a strong contender, as long as he focuses on business and puts social media on the backburner.
Kevin is good but his team is already letting him down (parts failures), and since his teammates are struggling they’re likely to drag him down. But Smoke and Kurt and Kevin can all win if they can get past their gremlins.
Joey – not sure that he’s mature enough to stay out of trouble. He usually derails himself by conflicting with other drivers or his crew.
Carl – not sure he can handle the pressure. Good driver, but Smoke showed how Carl is vulnerable.

Can’t count JJ out with his record.
Ryan and the Childress shop have things to prove, so they could be tough – as long as the Austin effort doesn’t dilute things.
Kyle is always good for running up front and getting some wins. But he always fades away in the end.
Matt tends to sneak up on you, so when you’ve forgotten about him – got’cha.
Denny – something happened to him after that wreck that hurt his back. I’m not sure he’s really over it.
Jeff still runs pretty good and has the potential to win, but seems to have lost the hunger.
I don’t foresee any rookies winning this year – don’t have the skills plus equipment combination. Not saying that they’re bad, just saying they don’t have enough for the veterans.

Now let’s see how the season plays out, and how far off I am.
