Top Gear Goes Behind The Scenes Of NASCAR on BBC America

watch the uk version on occasion. haven't/won't see the american version. looking forward to seeing this one (if i remember). i think all 3 interviewees are spot on.

Because most British people (the bulk of BBC watchers), are formula one fans. JPM used to drive Formula one. In fact, he is a champion of that sport. Something very few can say they are.

JPM is one of like 3 guys that has driven Formula one and NASCAR.

It's to put perspective on their point of view toward NASCAR.

You are welcome Bobby :)
And that's relevant because....?

It is funny as all heck that people are arguing over the credentials of JPM. The guy would be adding the perspective of a non typical view of NASCAR coming from such a diverse background. I'm interested in hearing his thoughts/views on the sport more than the same ol', same ol' of the ever complaining Kyle Petty. I like Kyle and all, but his shtick is getting old. Maybe that's just me?

You don't want to hear about NASCAR from a former driver who seems to spend part of his day everyday fighting with fans on Twitter?

From Jeff Gordon's Friday Q & A:

WHAT WAS IT LIKE BEING WITH RICHARD HAMMOND OF TOP GEAR? I BELIEVE YOU FILMED IT LAST NOVEMBER AT TEXAS
“Yeah, it’s been a while since we shot it. But I’m excited to see how it all turned out. I’m definitely a fan of the show. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to do that lap around their track that they have over there in Europe, but maybe we’ll get a chance to do that one day and see where we stack up. But he’s a great guy; very funny to work with Richard. They were really in awe of Texas Motor Speedway and the whole NASCAR experience. I think it was great that they were coming to that race track and here to America to shoot something for the European audience; it’s so strong for them, but really I guess a worldwide audience. We’ll see how it turns out. It was fun.”

Unless DIRECTV adds BBCA in HD over the next couple of hours, it looks like I'll be watching an SD broadcast for the first in probably a year. The sacrifices I make just to see a bit of NASCAR are incredible.
