Ok, I love my smoker but I saw this recently in a discussion of how to deep fry a turkey and burn your house down on the same day... Ok, moving right along.
I'm going to try this

 
Mag, the concept is the same as using a cast iron Dutch oven on coals with coals on the lid.
TRL, I was thinking the same except the pieces cut off appeared juicy and he said his wife saved chicken broth to be used in lieu of the turkey juices.
My first thought when I heard about beer can chicken was it would result in it being dry, I was wrong. Very juicy and depending regardless if just salt and pepper or a rub used both ways give good results. FIRE UP YOUR SMOKER AND LETS EAT!:)
