Travis Pastrana?

I would love to see Kanaan in Nascar as well, or Scott Dixon. Or maybe even Ryan Hunter Ray. Who knows if any of them would do well, but it would be interesting to see...
 
For sure he can be successful in NASCAR but first he has to set aside rallycross and everything else that can distract him. He has shown he can run well but he needs to focus on NASCAR and NASCAR only.

There is definitely an adjustment period of a couple of years for drivers who come from other series . Hornish , Carmichael , Montoya , etc . Some sponsors and car owners can wait , some can't . Coming into Nascar with 5 or 10 yrs in full bodied stock cars is big plus ,but even then , it can be tough . Right now , Ricky Stenhouse would not be on my list to make the chase in 2014 , and he is a very seasoned racer.

btw whatever happened to Carmichael in Nascar.
 
After Harvick shut down his team in Trucks so did RC's dream in NASCAR.

I guess owners thought he didn't do enough in NASCAR to warrant another chance.

Hornaday was in the same boat although he is still around but barely noticeable.
 
Saw this coming. It was inevitable.

If most drivers that completely stink were more honest with themselves like Travis, we'd have better racing all around.

Kudos to you sir for admitting you suck.
 
As a big fan of his, someone who was really excited for him at the beginning of the year..it's kind of a bummer but I understand. He just couldn't make that car work and they've been taking steps backwards... When he isn't wadding it up they aren't running as 'good' as they were earlier in the year or last year.
 
Kind of interesting that he's not sticking around for the paycheck.
 
Wow eh? Quitter... thats stupid. I remember once hearing him say his dream is to be a sprint cup champion.. too bad. Quitters dont become champs. Go ride a dirt bike.

Travis probably thought that anybody could drive a stock car and win races. Reality has set in and he now knows it aint that easy.
Juan Pablo said this weekend that driving a cup car was like "driving a school bus" .

I sure wouldnt call Travis a quitter, I have seen him ride a dirt bike and its a beautiful thing. Not everybody is a stock car racer

Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?

A few years ago Juan was prasing NASCAR because it was just overall better racing than where he came from.

Drivers from other series who think its easy to come and drive.. and WIN races is easy all they have to do is look at Franchiti. Poster boy for people who think they can just come in and win. Epic fail.

I wasnt saying anything bad about Travis, I think he is a very talented individual and seems to be a great person too. He certainly treats his fans well and to me thats very important

I don't think the bus comment and the quality of racing are mutually exclusive. Stock cars are bigger, heavier and more loose than open-wheel cars. Doesn't mean they can't have good drivers and good racing.

It was painful watching Kyle lap poor Travis every 20 laps this weekend.

Juan didnt say anything bad about Nascar or the quality of racing. he more or less was commenting on how vastly different the cars are.

I am shocked to find out you actually read the gibberish I post :lol2:
