Truck RACE thread --- Martinsville

Pretty amazing how quickly Hocevar speedran the lovable underdog to raging dickhead heel turn. Didn’t even make it out of the Truck Series!

He’s got a lot of talent but I doubt he ever will. I liked Carson but damn dude

Also this race is a f’n disaster

Sounds like Ross and Kyle doesn't agree with Andy wanting to pull the plug so early. :D
I will say if Kyle Busch of all people wanted to keep going in the rain they had last night then maybe they should have listened. I’ve heard him say the opposite quite a bit in the past when they possibly could have finished races.

I only posted Ross and Kyle, there were more drivers that wanted to keep going. The wets were working pretty well and some of the drivers wanted the option of the teams deciding when to run or not run the wets instead of the mandated caution to do so.

Still I would probably trust Kyle’s input the most anyway though honestly.

I finally watched the race this am on the DVR. Calling that an officiating disaster would be an understatement.

Dry the track until it was almost ready for slicks, send them out on wet tires, throw caution for rain, park them on pit road, dry the track, send them back out on slicks, throw caution again for rain, park them on put road and call the race.

Nearly half that race was run under yellow. Not sure why they even both having the wet weather package on the cars if they're not going to run under a light rain and dry the track before sending them out.

Pretty calm race except for Hocevar deciding to be a dick.
Nice to see Heim beat KDB for the win, Sawalich with an impressive job to get a Top 10 in his first start.
No problems when they were running the rain tires at all.

I didn't see it but it sounds like the rain tires were successful, at least as far as NASCAR allowed them to be used. Fair assessment?

They didn't really try them. The track was almost ready for slicks when then sent them out for the start. Had a caution to put slicks on. Rained later and never tried them again

I thought NASCAR said it would leave it up to the teams to decide when to put the slicks back on.
