He was spinning at the Start finish line and the one who drilled him was coming off of 4.
From the replay there was a ton of dirt kicked up plus the tire smoke. Visibility was nil.

That was the other driver. They showed Thompson from a distance and he went down as soon as he got out

It was still avoidable. It happened right in front of the spotters and they showed have got them slowed down to miss everything
