Truck race?????

That's what I hate to see in any of the series. A driver go home even though they were faster than drivers that get to race. To me that's just not right.:(

Worse thing is 2 other drivers times were disallowed because I think their roofs were to low but they still in the race.Because they were locked in with owners points.

I say everyone qualify to get in a race. Fastest 40 race. Quit all the other BS. And I say this should be for all the series.

No argument here, but there is one significant factor that disagrees with us; Millions of sponsorship dollars! Can't have the big bucks fail to qualify.

They should all have to earn their way in through qualifing. They could do with less sponser money. The drivers do not need to be multi-millionares. We are the ones paying more for the products so these primadonnas can be very wealthy.

I dont think many on the truck series are multi millionaires. Hell, KHI and Randy Moss are the only real adequately funded teams in that series.

Professional NASCAR drivers salaries are pitiful compared to other sports. Two drivers came in the top 50 highest-earning American athletes in 2010. And..... that was only because of endorsements, not their salary.

3 drivers. Jr, Gordon, and Johnson in that order. Drivers get a salary plus a % of the money awarded by their finishing position. It's the merchandise that really rakes in the money for them.

It's the baseball players salaries that floor me.

Agree James, but as someone pointed out, there isn't the number of millionaires and/or high rolling sponsors in the trucks.

You know how much I detest the Chosen 35 model, from the other forum, so I won't go into one of my usual rants on THAT subject. My current feeling is that NA__AR uses the CHOSEN system (or, sponsor/team owner welfare) in the trucks because if they ran the trucks as a lot of folks, including me, would love to see (Fastest trucks race and everyone else loads up, no matter if your name is Kevin Harvick or Joe Denette), it'd be an instant hit. People would then see just how much the Chosen system screws up things and NA__AR couldn't allow THAT to happen, could they?

True. That's one of the things I like about it, as well as plenty of other people I'm sure.

Yep, it'd just make too much sense. I'd love it if they'd make it that simple in the series they've messed with the least, but it just can't be that way.

Back on subject, the Skinman didn't even make the race!

Yeah buck....that caught my eye. Sometimes I wish they would just allow a few more starting spots at a big place like Daytona. I don't see where it would hurt. Granted you can only take that so far.

DW says the bumpers don't line up on the trucks, so not likely going to see any 2-car (truck) pushing...this should be fun!

Looks like the inside line is the way to go...outside was right there for a bit but now inside is gaining ground every lap.

Well shoot. It looks like when the bumpers don't line up (trucks) the racing evolves into a one groove parade around the bottom. If they do line up we got 2-car teams taking turns pushing each other.

Six of one - half dozen of the other. That's OK...the high groove might work in tonight.

(p.s. - beautiful moon tonight)

Unbelievable moon tonight. It looks like it is going to fall in my backyard.

Wow - I thought it would be somebody at fault - looks like it was just a blown tire.

Of course that blown tire took out 13 racecars (ooops...trucks)

WOWOWOWOW...what a nice way to start the season !!

Kyle B. is a serious lunatic :)

 Kyle got pushed outside. The lunatics were the guys in the middle.

You are right...Kyle is a great driver...the inside guys screwed it up.

(but Kyle is still a bit of a loony to keep pushing with all his radiator water blowing out like an old-school locomotive :))

True, there is no quit in Kyle as long as it's still driveable :beerbang:

Yeah BF...it wasn't Kyle's fault...but he likely would have blown his engine in another lap or so and crashed out everybody behind him due to the oil areosal
