Truck race

The budgets in Trucks are very low. If I were to throw out numbers, I'd say some competitive teams operate on less than $1,000,000/year including sponsorship revenue. Realistically, the Truck Series teams pretty much all run on a smaller budget than the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards teams. That's why a lot of people are bailing ARCA and USAR Pro Cup to run Trucks.

I'd be willing to bet Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick spend more money per race than half of the teams spend for the entire season.

Todd Bodine won the Championship last year with the Germaines largely paying for everything out of their own pockets. I consider that much more impressive than any wins that Busch racked up.

Way back in the 60's, when I first got involved in racing as being other than a pure spectator, I learned quickly that the team with the most money will, as a whole, generally win the most races. It's just the way motor sports are. Talent will take you so far but when you merge that talent with money, that's the answer.

What I'm seeing is that merger in the trucks and the BGN series has taken the above philosophy up about two levels and just made things ridiculous.

But, that's just my personal opinion...
