I thought the race was decent. We did see the second car able to pass. however Kevin harvick had a HUGE advantage over everyone else. Its not often we see a car with such a big disparity in speed over the rest of the field. To most it probably didn't seem that much. Harvick wasn't driving the car that hard, When he flexed his muscle was passing a car off the corner. He went around them like they were standing still. I would say when needed he could summon an extra 4 tenths over a competitor in lap time. That is not very common of an advantage in todays sport. The rest of the time he just kept a comfortable gap over second place and would speed up if necessary. I am sure the teams are wondering what they have to do to run with harvick.
The second surprise to me and I am still scratching my head. these cars have a TON more corner speed now. I always thought less downforce, less corner speed. perhaps wacking some spoiler off made the balance of the car better where as before it may have been so much rear down force it was making the cars tighter, too tight maybe. the other indicator is just how much they were in the throttle. It was just a burp entering the corner and before the car was in the center of the corner they were on the gas almost all the way again. This is a much different driving style than before. Its almost like an indy car driving style to me. They are back on the gas SOOO soon again.
next tony stewart, its not the car something is wrong with tony the driver. There is no way a driver like him gets beat by danica on a consistent basis. I simply just don't buy the fact that they can't get the car right. put harvicks setup in any car out there with any driver and they could probably run it within a half to 3/4 of a second of harvick. Tony is not right in fact I think he is actually worse, maybe because of the latest surgery, I am actually getting worried about him.
Roush, my goodness, These guys are in big trouble. are front row motorsports cars faster now days?? well maybe. I felt the same about RCR last year but it appears the alliances have made everyone there better. Where in the world did newman come from yesterday? he wasn't a player nearly all race. Roush needs to allign better with other teams provide cars and support.
