Volunteer Speedway 2013 race schedule
BULLS GAP, Tenn. — Volunteer Speedway is gearing up for start of the 2013 racing season, which will be the 40th year of racing at "The Gap." The schedule is highlighted with 10 special event touring series Super Late Model shows.
Kicking off the season on March 15-16, will be the 12th annual Spring Thaw under sanctioning from Ray Cook's Spring Nationals Series, paying $4,000-to-win on Friday and $10,000-to-win on Saturday.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series $10,000-to-win 10th annual Scorcher will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22 during Bristol Motor Speedway NASCAR race-week.
The Southern All-Star Dirt Racing Series returns to action on the high-banks at Volunteer Speedway for two $4,000-to-win events, on April 20 and June 1.
The Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series will be featured in two events, on May 18 and Sept. 7.
The Southern Regional Racing Series will have two $3,000-to-win races, on May 4 and June 22.
The Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series Super Late Models will be in action for a $3,500-to-win event on July 16.
The Crate Late Model division will be featured in two $2,000-to-win races. Also, the third annual Hobby Havoc will be held.
