He moved up 16 spots in the points standings in one race, too!!:D

Wasn't ready?

Tell that to the other 42 guys who didn't get to the checkered flag first. Thousands upon thousands guys in the history of big time stock car racing that have never even got close. This kid got a shot at the pot of gold and road the rainbow all the way to victory lane.

I'm not saying that the guy can't drive but it's quite obvious that he got lucky. It happens ya know. I wish some of you would quit trying to bill him as the next superstar of NASCAR. It ain't gonna happen. What's he gonna do next year when he has to figure out the setups for himself? Yup, struggle.

"I wish some of you would quit trying to bill him as the next superstar of NASCAR.".........snip....

Some of you? That's a pretty broad statement. Care to narrow it down a bit?

"He got lucky ..."

Luck plays a part in every winner's race. So does talent.

Is it hard to admit McMurray is talented?

have heard LUCK defined as preparation plus opportunity.

The kid was prepared and he got the opportunity. He was by at least one one old definition, lucky.

"Luck"

Fascinating little item. Can't seem to remember the last time there was a WC winner who didn't receive a little wink from Lady Luck.

Sometimes just little stuff ya might not even notice. Like never once getting that "bad" set of tires that sets ya back. Or having the caution flag fly just as ya feel a tire going soft from a little hole. Or all the incidents happened at places on the track where ya weren't.

If the lady never once glances your way, you won't win.
