Weather guessers say there are three scenarios.

Scenario 1 (NBC): 12+ inches of the white stuff

Scenario 2 (ABC): 6-12" of the white stuff

Scenario 3 (unlikely): 3-5" of the white stuff.

The first scenario would be a December record. The weather will be bone cold and the snow will not melt soon. Washington DC will have a White Christmas.

Global Warming my ass.

Four inches of wet snow right now (6:30 pm EST) and it keeps on coming down. They're calling for another four inches before its over tomorrow. Took me twice as long to get home this evening and it took about 15 minutes to clean off the car. But I didn't mind working out in it...as long as it was snow.

Weather guessers said this will be either the worst or the second worst blizzard in history in DC.

This is, to make an understatement, the big one. Storm of the century here in Washington, DC.

:(

Well, I was supposed to go to La Plata today to see someone. Needless to say that ain't gonna happen.

Latest forecast: 15-22"

Yeah yeah...we got 19.5 last week, we all survived;)

Big deal!! Wisconsin has snow plows. Evidently you have never beein in the DC area when they have a big storm.

And for Andy. The storms of 1983 and 1979 were probably worse than what you are now getting.....at least they were for the Maryland suburbs of DC.

Last night the weather guesser said 3-6 inches, 5 am this morning it was upped to 5-8.
Now they are predicting 12-15 inches and the official disclaimer was issued "if it stays on the projected path". Meaning if it tracks 100 miles to the south it'll be a minor storm, 100 miles north it'll be minimum 15+ inches.

Weather guessers, a pox on them!

They were dead on about this storm for us.

Same storm here, just a few degrees to warm. We're under a coastal flood warning (again) and are looking at yet another weekend of rain. Just 20 miles to the north in Williamsburg is getting snow.

How many snow plows does DC have????

EDIT: Forget it I did it for you

1100 miles of roads

Approx pieces of snow equipment: 400
Number of heavy dump trucks fitted w/plows: 146
Number of light plows: 71

That's quite a lot of equipment...

Got a few inches of snow overnight. It is snowing very lightly right now. It actually feels warmer now than it did a few days ago though. The damp cold is much worse, it chills you to the bone. My sister-in-law lived in Alaska for years and said it feels a lot colder here in the winter than it did in Anchorage because it never got above freezing there, in the winter, so it was a much dryer cold.

Blizzard Warning's been extended. It was supposed to end two hours ago but the storm strengthened and pushed more snow towards us. Looks like we'll have two feet of snow before the end of this thing.

Do you have to shovel.....That would be a pain the the arse

I need a damn tractor, not a shovel.

LOL Andy - Don't get too worked up about it. I've shoveled many days, in many years that much snow & more. You just keep working at it. We just got a decent snow blower last year. The times it's the worse is when it's drifted. Aren't you going to be out of there soon to FL? You can handle it. :)

Our rain finally turned to snow! We got about an inch (my apologies to those who still have to shovel:D)

Most weather guessers are saying we got 12-15 inches. But I have a drift around my truck up to the windows! Still coming down but supposedly tapering off.
