Here kitty, kitty, kitty
C'mon Andy, in twenty years or so, some little kid is going to complain about the snow storm and then you'll be able to say that this is nothing compared to what we had back in 09.
Yesterday was pretty rough on this old boy at work. I've worked in worse snows than this, but I was younger then and more prepared. Also, the bones weren't as stiff as they are today. It was a very long day indeed, just getting to work was a thrill. Almost didn't get out of the housing area I live. Had to back up three times to get up the hill and I have front wheel drive. From there on, it wasn't all that bad getting to my work office. Because of the storm, the mail was light...very light, but we did have a lot of packages that had arrived the day before. We were however able to get out of the office in a timely manner, albeit later than normal, and from there, it was all up to the carriers. I normally drive a Dodge Caravan on my route, but having done this before, knew that the roads on my route would not be cleared, so I asked for an LLV (those big square things you mostly see) that had chains and got one. Unless you've ever driven one of those things with chains on them, on a cleared street, you don't know what a pleasure it is to have a vibrating brain! Anyway, plodding through the snow, some of it was over six inches deep, it took me 7 and a half hours to complete and I only fell down once. Banged up my left knee (good one) very early in the day, but continued as though nothing had happened. (Its very stiff this morning) Got back to the office just before 6:00 pm and stayed for another half hour, completing an 11 hour day. I am so glad that I'm off Monday!
One thing that did make my day was seeing all the kids and their parents having so much fun on the snow. Smiling faces always make my day. Here's hoping that all of you who live in the storm area have as much fun as they did.
