Weather could put an end to Larsons chance to do the double

Man, I sure hope the weather doesn't cause Larson not to get to run in the 500. So many fans, including myself are so excited to watch him. I realize that he said he will put the 600 first, but I sure wouldn't be heartbroken if he stayed in Indy if it came down to having to make a choice. Plus, it might give happy Harvick a chance to get another win. :punkrocke

Not gonna lie…I’d rather see Larson race in the Indy 500 instead of the Coke 600 if it came down to it

He is already locked into the playoffs, so I don't really see a problem missing one NASCAR race. Plus, Hendrick has probably spent a lot of money for Indy. I'm sure the Larson fans that are not into IndyCar racing won't agree though. :)

It comes to down to it for me, that we already know what he can do in a stock car. Let’s see what he can do in one of those IndyCar beasts in that sports biggest race. It’s Indy 100% for me, and I agree with your point totally, if he misses one Cup race now I believe he can make it up during the playoffs because more than half those tracks he can win at securing the automatic advancement. I’m just bummed I won’t be in Indy to see this.

There might end up being a window between dry morning hours and severe weather in the late afternoon, but it may not be a big one. They would only move up the race start 20 minutes or so, and then it may be a race to halfway.

Late morning/early afternoon could still go either way really. 2019 was supposed to be a washout and they wound up getting the whole thing in, so who knows. Today’s Carb Day forecast has also seen the arrival of inclement weather get pushed back into later in the day.

If they drop the green flag, there will be no laying back after the halfway mark... it will be hammer down until the checker flag.

While I would rather him prioritize NASCAR over Indy, one thing he has going for him if he doesn't is his doesn't have to worry about his sponsor in cup getting pissed off if he doesn't make the 600. No other drivers can say that.

I'm done considering the opinions of people who don't have tickets and aren't Larson fans in regard to the feelings of Larson fans who have tickets.
Fan ticket holders for the 600 or the 500? The decision to run Indy was announced early enough that fans should have known that there could be a chance that it would be impossible to make both races due to weather unless they purchased them a couple of years earlier.

I am surprised to check in and see this thread has become nearly 4 pages.... the 500 will certainly run Monday. No issue there.

I had tickets and am a Larson fan, I want him to make the 500 a priority! Joking aside, I’m hoping we get good weather on Sunday
