Okay, technically we have to wait until the checker flag flies to finish this 18th race of the season but the question remains.....

What is the biggest surprise to you at this point of the season?

I think there are a lot of surprises but the biggest too me so far is the big a$$ zero in the JGR win column.

Chase with no wins is another surprise. I was sure Rick would have bought him a win by now.

I am also surprised at JGR's goose egg but even more surprised that Kyle Busch is closing in on 12 months since his last visit to victory circle. I am also surprised that RCR has not 1 but 2 victories and even though I shouldn't be surprised I still marvel at the sustained excellence the 48 team has displayed since inception.

Somehow I'm not surprised that your biggest surprise is fourfold. ;)

JGR not winning yet, but I expect Kyle Busch to rip off a few wins here soon. Chase Elliott not winning yet and Ricky Stenhouse winning 2 races are also on my list

Stage racing is working out better than I expected.

I am hoping for all Jags and Browns fans that stages come to the NFL so both teams can accumulate stage and playoff points by winning battles at various stages even though they may lose the game.....:D

JGR with 0 wins
SHR with 2 wins.... I really expected them to struggle and in some ways they have.
Stenhouse having two wins!

For some reason I felt the need to post.....

In order to get points at the quarters and half, those teams would actually have to be ahead at those times.

Stenhouse having the 2nd most wins

Probably Stenhouse for me.. Joeys mediocre run the past couple months is up there but thats more of a biased opinion.

JGR with no wins is big too.. and now this Kenseth news :eek::eek: .. Never saw that coming

Most pleasant surprise is Blaney in the Wood Brothers car, most disappointing is lack of wins by Gibbs Racing.

Stenhouse and JGR

Goodyears ability to keep Kyle out victory lane.
They even got in his head at the Michigan Xfinity race, and had him blocking at the initial green flag.

Flat season for Logano too. And unlike JGR the Penske cars can obviously win. Something is off specifically on the 22 team

Ricky Stenhouse, Austin Dillon and Ryan Blaney all winning races before Chase Elliott, Joey Logano and Kyle Busch.

Honestly very surprised Elliott hasn't won. He's starting to remind me of Kasey Kahne in his early years, except even then, Kahne had won by this point.

I think Joey's team has to start at the beginning to build his car. Ever since Nascar fined Team Penske Joey's cars have not been up front. They will fix it but it might be a throw away year for Joey.

I will actually add to this....I am surprised by the goose egg while the performance has been so good. If you were to tell me that we would be at the midway point with no wins before the season started, I would point to a performance deficit by TRD. This is categorically not the case. No wins with cars this fast is indeed shocking.

For me, the Kyle Larson dominance is the biggest surprise. The dude is poised to win it all. Has to be the favorite. Talented as hell--and yeah, it pisses me off that he got away from Toyota. I am not alone in this for sure.

I am totally surprised that Kyle has no win. The other two drivers are set for life financially and don't give 100% IMO The 4th driver's time hasn't come yet and unless he gets the same deal Joey got at JGR, he will start winning quietly.
