What Brian France Could Learn From the NFL, but Won't.

Maybe we should take up a collection to buy BZF an NFL team of his own. We could run a bake sale or something. All we ask in return is to name his replacement as Nascar chief honcho.

Say it ain't so! Maybe a cricket team in India bit not an NFL team.
I don't watch NFL....... So...... that would be okay with me...... actually.. it would be good for him..... he would have competition that would squash him like a fly.... something he has never encountered before...... all he's ever known was being the Queen bee with no chance of losing his livelihood., when you are born with a silver spoon......and head of the only team in the league...... you can pretty much mandate any change you want.... until you mandate yourself right of everything your grandpa and dad worked so hard to build up...... I always thought Lisa and Jim were super smart..... but.... now I am wondering... they should have as much input as Brian does...

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the 33rd NFL franchise....the Daytona Beach Changes! Helmet and uniform designs pending.

I've very briefly read through this so far, but the whole concept of points throughout a race is very confusing to me actually. And I'm decent at math.

Why not just award 40 points to the winner, 35 for 2nd, etc, 1 for 36-40. Then 1 for leading a lap, 1 for leading the most, and then 5 playoff points for winning a race, the regular season bonus points, then having those carrying over all the way to Homestead.

Shorten some of these races. Okay, they want these races to mean something early? Then why not shorten some of these longer drawn out races? Possible good races to shorten are tracks with multiple dates. Dover could be cut back to two 300 lap races, Phoenix could host a 250 lap spring race, Texas I'd like to see only have 1 date, but the spring race should be 300-400 miles.

Schedule changes I think are a major underlying problem, not sure what's realistic on the schedule changes. I'd like to see Gateway on the schedule in place of Kansas in the fall, and then Road America in place of Michigan, a weeknight Martinsville race, a Charlotte road course race.

If is never a good idea to take something simple and over think it and make it complicated. I haven't looked at the ways points are calculated as I know it will change again and I don't recognize the NASCAR champion so points are not important to me.
