What Do You Drive ?

I got an 02 Chevy S-10 Xtreme thats draining the life outta me. I've had it since 04, bought it brand new from the dealer & got probably the worst deal on it ever. I only bought when I did cause I needed a vehicle really bad cause my previous truck had broken down. I pay around $550.00 a month for this truck. So total, i'm going to end up paying around $40,000 for a truck that on the showroom floor with zero miles on it was only worth about $10,000. I can't even give this thing away to CarMax until i'm down to only owing like $5000.00 & then they may not want it then either. I love Chevrolets in NASCAR racing don't get me wrong, but their civilian over the road vehicles are like the plague. Overexpensive, too many problems, & nearly impossible to get rid of. Luckily for me right now since i'm across the pond, it's not having miles put on it. I should be able to get rid of it within the next year & it'll have less than 20k miles on it. I'm not mad or anything though, I guess we all gotta take our lumps one way or another. I also had a 1991 Honda Accord LX Coupe that I sold just prior to leaving to go across the pond. Now I have to say that for the money that was the most reliable car I ever had. I bought it for $7,500 & turned it into a really nice Fast & Furious type street racer. In the almost 10 years I had it, the only problems it had was the ignition coil burned up but that was my fault cause my car alarm was wired through the ignition, the heater coil had to be replaced & the motor mounts as well. That thing got awesome fuel mileage & was cheap as far as insurance was concerned as well. I wouldn't have sold it but I didn't want to leave it sitting in storage for 4 years which is how long i'm gonna be overseas. Better to sell it to another young guy & let him enjoy it.

RPK it's not just the Cheys that you lose on when you buy them new. I had a Dodge I bought brand new. Never will buy another new car. I was upside down on that car the whole time I owned it and it caused me to have to borrow more money when I bought my truck because I owed more on it than it was worth. Learned my lesson.
