What is Gibbs feeding these drivers?

A MENCS-less field

That is great and I'd be fine with more stand alone events but as long as Cup drivers are racing Im going to enjoy watching the best do what they do best. I think they are great for developing this young talent that is coming up and enjoy getting to see these kids race and sometimes beat a Cup driver.

Honestly, I'm done even trying to tell you how that's an opinion. YES it's the first time it happened but it's not a FACT that it couldn't have happened.

For me what Hamlin said doesn't have as much to do with accuracy as it does with a person that is full of himself for beating up a group of youngsters. I haven't met a person yet who likes a braggart or a liar and Hamlin is one of those 2 based on his statement.

No one said he wasn't. We just said he was thinking highly of himself thinking he caused that finish and that no one else could have.

On one hand a fan makes fun of the rules set forth by Nascar and on the other uses it as an excuse to justify an action.

No, I'm saying that anyone in that same spot Denny was on that restart could have done it with that exact same move. Just because he is the first to do it doesn't mean anyone couldn't have done it, it doesn't mean it wont happen again also. YOU are speculating that someone else's in Denny's car COULDN'T have done that.

Im not sure where you are getting that as I clearly stated that if you take Denny out, you take the 20 car out. I know Denny is talented in a car and demonstated so with that pass. Im not speculating anything just observing what actually happened.

Yet you are speculating that no one else could have pulled off that move. Hell I don't like him, but Kyle Busch could have done it.

No I'm not though. Im not going to speculate about another driver doing that when Denny did it. Denny has the right to brag about it if he wants. It was a great finish, he and everyone else should enjoy it.

He likes to look towards jack roush and rick Hendrick history shows...

Didn't say he couldn't brag. Just said it's not 100% fact someone else COULDN'T have done it as it's not. It's a fact he DID it. But not that it COULDN'T have been done.

Could have or couldn't have doesnt matter though. Denny was asked a question about his participation and with out him this week that finish doesn't happen unless you speculate about another driver doing it. Why would Denny do that? He was speaking from his experience which is all he has to go off of on a question like that.

So you don't think Kyle is good enough to have done it?

Thats not what its about though. Most the drivers are good enough to do that or they wouldn't be there but Denny did and answered a question truthfully in his mind without any speculation.

I'm reading it as he said no one else could have done that if they was in his spot. That it only happened because of him and not a single other soul COULD have did it if in that same spot.

To be fair thats not a direct quote and nor does it state to be. I read it as a reaction to what he'd done. That finish was exciting, doubled by the fact you had an Xfinity rookie battleing a Cup veteran. Had Byron won he'd be the next star and that 88 talk would have exploded. See now I'm speculating.

The myth is if you take the cuppers out of the lower series, fans will cease to watch.

The reality is if you take the cuppers out, many Kyle Busch fans will cease to watch.

Not this one, just so happened I missed Gateway but had other plans that night, sounds like it was a good race. I enjoy the stand alones but the Cup drivers do add alot to those races.

Nothing better than one of those kids beating a Cup driver and Byron was close. He'll get another chance and I hope he pulls it off. He gained the experience so now he should know what to do next time.

85% of the races this season have been won by cup drivers.

Exactly, its not easy to beat a Cup driver but it does happen. They have to work and develop to do it. Byron will get another chance and I wouldn't mind if he beat Kyle doing it.

I am thinking MLB should send down some starting pitchers to AAA so the players could learn from them........:D

That happens with rehab starts and returns. Rodger Clemons pithed for the A ball team here beforr returning the Astros. Racing is different though and gives those young kids that opportunity.

I get the humor but I had a party I was invited to. Wont have my fandom questioned though as Im a racing fan not just a Kyle Busch or NASCAR fan and watch it all when I'm available.

I was laughing at the "once in a lifetime Xfinity finish" line. I couldn't watch live either, no judgement there.

I think with Nascar itself mandating a reduced cupwacker race participation and more importantly social media continuing to protest, the manufacturers who were pushing for the cuppers to be there in years past might take note. Time will tell.

Oh, thought it was the fact Kyle wasn't in the truck race and I didn't watch. Had a few post quoted and the Edwards one was the only one I thought was out of place.

I would be OK with a cupper going to the minors for a conditioning stint.

Those were my three favorite posts in this thread, not really related.
