What is nascar thinking?

With no grip and no downforce, the speeds would not be nearly as high as they are now -
because drivers would actually have to lift off the throttle in order to "safely" navigate the turns.

My misunderstanding. I thought you were listing individual items; I didn't realize you were suggesting a complete package. Combined with the other changes you mentioned, removing the plates shouldn't be an issue.

I don't know if you're going to have enough drivers survive qualifying to fill a 43-car field, or if the capable ones will survive starting among those less able to handle a car configured that way. The first dozen races or so would be total wreckfests. I sure wouldn't play fantasy that season.

I heard Jeff Burton saying the other day that looser racecars this year would be an advantage for the better/more experienced drivers , but I agree with you, how do they hope to stay out of the multicar wrecks ? I think there will be a lot more Jimmy Johnson's driving at the back of the pack.

Basicly, if the cars all have differing response to the conditions, the large packs of cars we currently see would be gone.

I understand that many people like Plate Racing. I think it's an amazing and exciting exhibition but when all 43 cars are capable of running the same exact speed, it ceases to be a "race".

As a Bill Elliott fan , I kinda agree with you,Robbie. Back in the day when his Ernie Elliott engine put out way more horsepower than anyone else in the field , now that was racin boys.

And a chess match is born.

i don't like it when some moron takes my guy out. But then again. You have to be smart. Look at Brad and how he knew to stay low at Dega in the Fall. That smart thinking saved his bacon.

And a bit of luck. If you watch the video, he was turning right into Jr when Labonte came crashing in and straightened Brad out.

Not enough debris?
Chess board = Daytona
Chess Pieces as follows
Black night = Kyle Busch
White night = Dale JR
Black rook = Juan Pablo
White Rook = Tony Stewart
Black Bishop = Kurt Busch
White Bishop = Jeff Burton
Black queen = Brad "slow in a ford like my grandmother" Keselowski
White Queen = Danica Patrick
Black King = Jeff Gordon
White King = Jimmie Johnson

Take these pieces, put them in a metal shell, send them at 200. You're gonna get your debris.

Geez, not a Ford in the bunch. It's not like they haven't won three of the last four races at Daytona.

There's no chess equivalent to hanging out at the back most of the day.

They aren't my pieces so they're not my problem. Maybe FB plans to start them as pawns, outrun everyone else to get across the board, then promote all eight of them to queens.

Gods, now I'm using that useless analogy.

Stop with the rumor mill nonsense. Despite what dpk says, I'm not into Queening. ;)
