What's the deal with Roush and Sponsership?

Jack has numerous engineers are shops that are capable.

I think guys with talent are leaving him.

Yeah! BECAUSE according to the stats you posted here, Kenseth beats Carl in almost every catagory measurable. More top 5's, wins, top 10's. Poles is the only case where Carl is better.
 
Kenseth is eight years older and has been racing in cup six years longer. Compare Nationwide and cup..I beg to differ with ya MoeJoe. Can't say for sure what the future will bring, but I can't say that Kenseth is the better driver, he has raced 171 more Cup races than Carl. The Nationwide record with 252 for Kenseth and 245 for Carl, Carl has a much better record and is a closer comparison. Compare Hamlin to Bush and you can see that Kyle has a better record and their time in cup is about the same.

Carl kicks ass in NW, but so does Joey. He's not terrible this year, but he ain't amazing, especially in other seasons...

But Kenseth has one cup championship, and if Jimmie breaks his back too, then Kenseth may get another.
 
Kenseth's record is a placer not a race winner..top ten placer. That has changed so far at Gibbs. They all need to go get Jimmy he is way out in front...spike strip?

the Yota's are fast and qualifying well...but two Chevy's are sitting on the front this week. I have thought the furniture row guys have been faster so far this year then the Hendrick, but the worm might have turned with JJ sitting in the front row and three starting in the top ten
 
stand on it, I have to totally disagree with you. do you think for a minute roush wanted to see kenseth go?? the guy is good for at least 2-3 wins a year and a chase qualifier every year. THE FACT IS ROUSH COULDN'T AFFORD TO KEEP KENSETH. matt saw this and knew jack couldn't keep running the car out of his pocket. remember last year when ecoboost was on matt's car?? ummm speculation rooted with a little common sense says that was last minute steeply discounted sponsorship. with stenhouse in the car jack is likely saving 3-4 million, that means he can discount the sponsorship more and be more aggressive seeking it.

as to roush being just as good as JGR, have you been watching the same races I have?? kenseth in the 20 car could probably with a little luck won half the races by now. edwards won that race in phoenix by pit strategy NOT domination. if dale jr had beaten the 99 out of the pits I think he would have won it. so far I am seeing nothing out of roush. JGR cars IMO are the best cars on the track right now. and come to think of it they are some of the least cobbled together sponsorship cars out there.

Point standings after Homestead, is what matters.
 
Man, I intially thought Kenseth was a bit crazy for leaving Roush but it is clear he made the right decison...
