CHARLOTTE – Jimmie Johnson says he isn't superstitious. But just in case, he asked sponsor Lowe's to change the color of his No. 48 car heading into Saturday night's race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
The move to dump the seemingly unlucky white paint scheme and restore the more successful blue -- used in 2012 and 2013 -- might not end Johnson's streak of bad luck. But the six-time Sprint Cup Series champion figured it couldn't hurt.
"Just in case there is something to the superstition, we're going to cover that base and head up there with our blue race car," Johnson said this week.
Maybe he oughtta invest in a shinier horseshoemmmmmmmmm

Same here. That would be the biggest surprise of the year.I will be shocked if Jimmie isn't part of the Final four moving into Homestead.
They can take the weight saved from using a lightweight shifter and apply it in a more strategic position in the car where it will help with lower center of gravity. Every gram counts.I can't see were lightweight shifters would give you that much of a advantage.

I do too but marketing likes change for the sake of change.I like the blue Lowes car better myself and I sure would like for all these teams to stick to their colors.
