What's your biggest surprise of the year so far?

Pre Matt announcement, going with SHR and Aric, post Matt announcement, well, Matt going back to RFR
 
Chase Elliott not winning yet. Shoutout to a close second for Clint Bowyer winning a race.

Performance I'd have to say Bubba in the 43. If the Chevys right the ship he could be a top 15 car week in and week out.
 
Jimmie's lack of performance is a total surprise. How many races has he been up there contending for the win...0....that's a shocker.
 
Gordon bailing from Fox and becoming one of the head honchos for Hendrick? I won't be surprised though if it happens. Kenseth blew me away, they kept that a secret, I think it happened really fast. I predicted Almirola would do well the minute he signed with SHR, I had been following him for a long time. Good deal though, he paid his dues.
 
I'm noticing the emergence of the young drivers. The veterans still set the bar but the young drivers are catching up.

Dittos on both of these. Pleasantly surprised at Bubba’s car and team...not surprised by his ability. The man can drive a race car!

Its going to get to the point that I quit watching the plate races, shows like the one Sunday make me want to blow an artery. At the very least they could dump the stage crap at plate races, its nonsense. I don't blame the drivers

I watched the 50 laps, it's just not racing to me, especially when 12 cars get taken out in a huge wreck, 12 cars that all had a chance to win.
 
Bowyer winning, and SHR as a whole performing this well. Harvick wasn't super surprising but I didn't foresee all 4 cars taking up high standings spots.

Yeah, SHR is strong now because they have a year to get comfortable with Ford.

I underestimated how fast the Ford's were going to be this year, that's the biggest surprise.

Also, just how off the mark Chevy is with the new Camaro.

Nah not this year, probably won't be back in Charlotte until Gordon's HOF induction next year. Got a trip to Austin in a couple weeks and just booked race week in Daytona for the Coke Zero in July. The price of the room alone for that was unfair.

i feel ya, the charlotte race isnt that good to me anyways . im hoping it is this year though because im bringing family with me this year. they are coming down from DC
