What's your biggest surprise of the year so far?

I'd have to say HMS's struggles. Who'da thunk we'd be 10 races into the season without a single Hendrick driver in the Top 10 in points.
I'm excited to see Alex Bowman is leading all of the other HMS teams in points and that he is only 2 spots out of the top 10. I think he is using a lot of patience and driving pretty smart and not taking stupid risks and it's paying off with pretty good finishes so far in the 88 car.

I am surprised to see the Fords running as well as they are. The changes Nascar made to ride height must have let them over come the problems of 2017.
I think HMS has lost their edge over other teams. I don't believe they are working as smart as those teams that got ahead of them. Chad and JJ were streakers who came on at the end of the season to win championships and this work hard every race just isn't their cup of tea.
I believe Jeff Gordon will abandon the booth and return to management at HMS.

I knew when Nascar made some changes to go to a common radiator and oil cooler, something was going to happen differently. I didn't know if it was for price reduction or competition though. I can only wonder if Chevy didn't design for those changes. They came after the car was designed. That change looks like it helped the Fords, and has effected a Toyota's a bit. BTW they had the no ride height rule last year except on the plate tracks.
