Where is your fave place to vacation

I usually like to go to beaches. :)

I would love to go down to your neck of the woods though Tab, must be fun.
 
All we need is a dog and cat sitter..........Viva Las Vegas!!!:D
 
Where the water is warm and the beer is cold......


Honestly, I'm not really that much of a beach person, but I do love Gulf Shores, Alabama and Cancun in the off season. But I could go back to the Smokies just as easy.
 
I like to head to the Rockies and ski.
The only thing we have down here is food.:D There is nothing to do.

Either one, but I lean toward 'Bama.....;)

Its my dream to move down around the Gulf Coast when I retire. If things don't straighten up around here, it might be before then.
 
That's when I go ski. :D To get away from the drunks. We have a tame parade here.

Very true...used to go to Panama City back in high school...I haven't been back since the hurricane several years ago. And Daytona isn't too bad either....;)
 
Lap3 not to nitpick, but it's spelled Smokys. I know the grammar rules about plurals changing to "ies", but for whatever reason that is how they do it. Being from the area it is one of my pet peeves. Sorry.


Having said that, on a regular basis all I need for a good vacation is, you guessed it, some mountains. My dream vacation would either be Scotland or Tahiti.

Tell me about it. My favorite place would be up in Idaho. Camping, fishing, hiking or whatever. Love the nature around there. Just went up there last summer and it was a blast. Maybe next summer I can make it up there and have a camping trip. The kind where your ride drops you off and will pick you up in a week. You just hike or do whatever. Talk about relaxing.

One of these days, when I am done buying houses away from little 70 year old biddies, I want to have someone drop me off on the Appalachian Trail, and come get me in a couple of weeks.

nothing to do here?

god there is the beach, museums, THE ZOO.......( I haven't been to the zoo here).......
plenty of places to sightsee...HOLLYWOOD...........BEVERYLY HILLS...( we have been)........
little shops you talked about going to with the cobblestone......

THERE IS PLENTY TO DO IN LA.........open your eyes DE...........

and not to mention.........CALIFORNIA SPEEDWAY in April...............

the races in Irwindale that I won't go to yet........:(
 
I think those kind of vacations are the best. Just wake up when you want. If you want to fish today, then fish. If not, then go explore. No rules, catch most of your food and have a great time with your family. Sounds good to me.

Well there's that big windmill farm that was supposed to give us all that cheap electricity!!:(
 
I could go look at the famous Tehachapi Train Loop. That gets old after a few minutes though. Good thing there is a race track not to far.

Isn't there a big Condor reserve there too? You could go watch those big buzzards.:)
