Where's today's hate the Chase thread?

Which is why there is hate for The Chase :)

I thought last year's racing was the best we've seen in a long time. Dunno why you have your panties in a bunch. Newman's bump to move Larson out of the way in Phoenix is something that NASCAR needs more of.

I hate the chase, Brian, and his Dad and Mom for making him.
Bill and Anne B France too.

If anybody can hate the chase more and those responsible direct or indirectly , they will have my eternal respect.

Hopefully someone can, it is a worthy and fulfilling endeavor.

I want to give Andy the benefit of the doubt here, but it seems like this thread screams

I'd have to agree Clutch. Say what you will, for what it's worth, I think the new format is great. At no point in the year did things go stale. And come Homestead, no one can run away with the points. It's a win win.

I agree with this from an entertainment standpoint, but hate it from a hardcore fan standpoint. Maybe I am just not a fan of change, but I do not think it is the least bit fair to no longer reward consistency. Let each race be its own spectacle where every driver tries their darndest to win, but also reward the drivers who consistently finished in the top-10. That is exactly how it was prior to 2004; every race felt like it mattered and there was never a driver who won the championship that wasn't deserving of it. Now we get drivers who barely sneak into the Chase and have a chance to win the championship. That's not necessarily the worst thing in the world because they finished well when it mattered most, but it just doesn't seem fair to me. Leave that "playoff" format to the stick-and-ball sports.

>New Chase Format does not award Consistency
>Newman made it to Final Four without wins
>LOLWut?

Newman would have finished 6th in the final standings if not for the Chase. The most consistent driver should WIN the championship. Nobody aside from fans of their favorite driver cares, or should care, who finished 2nd or worse in the standings. Just my two cents and I know many will disagree.

I have no issue with people changing their minds because that's just a part of life. What I do take issue with is acting like you never did exactly what you're accusing others of doing. Good ole Andy. LOL
Pretty sure, if you look up posts from all of last season, you'd find I supported the playoff since the start of the season. Nice try though.

This new Chase format is nothing more than a Kamikaze elimination gimmick and should not be part NASCAR's top series events. In baseball and hockey, if a team loses the first game they have 4 or 6 games to come back and still win the series. For obvious reasons the NFL is the only sport where you can be eliminated after just one game during the post season, the lose and your out format works perfect for them. There really is no other way to do it with football. But, they have a limited schedule (16 games). Granted in NASCAR's new format a driver has 3 races in each of the first three rounds to advance, but they are running against 42 other drivers, not just ONE team like the other sports. Then there are the variables like having your shifter break off in your hand, and getting wrecked, all thru no fault of your own all within a 2 race span and eliminating a driver who was in the top 3 all year long. Yes, I'm talking about Jr. And how about JJ? If Ryan Newman had won the Championship it would have been a disaster for NASCAR, and if Harvick had cut a tire down or something in those closing laps at Homestead Newman would have won it. It was a real possibility. This new format has way to much room for hurting the drivers who ran the best prior to the Chase, and rewarding drivers who really do not deserve to be there. IMO :lilangel:

Junior's dog passed from having cancer … I hope your not making light of it because thats some heavy chit …

R.I.P. Killer

Go back to sleep C_Numb, you'll know when I am being mean. I suggest you put me on ignore because obviously
you don't understand anything I say. Either that or you are really trying to start something.

Finally got done catching up on all the Chase hate overnight. Gonna be a long season for all of us I think regardless of which side you fall on.

NASCAR fans must be Cowboys fans because they cling to the past and can't let go.

Sing along with Princess Elsa, folks.

I kept looking for the Cowboys, Panthers, Lions, and Cardinals on the field during the NFC Championship game but I never saw them. :idunno:

You mean like clinging to the past like this..

The Chase is in desperate need of change and has been from the start. Personally, I'd rather scrap it but that ain't going to happen. Unfortunately, there are just too many intermediate tracks to start with.

I'd scrap Chicago entirely from the Chase but that's not going to happen either.

The implementation of the Chase sucked as much as the Chase sucks. If you're going to have a playoff system, at least manufacture a schedule that generates excitement. They've made some changes but not nearly enough. I get why they moved the first race in the Chase to Chicago but man it sucks.

NASCAR turned away from their older fanbase but never attracted a younger fanbase. They thought young people would like the CoT because it had a goofy wing on it like all the ricer burners. They think young people will enjoy superspeedways because the cars run 200+ mph.

NASCAR might be more concerned with attendance right now, and might think it's wise to make facilities nicer instead of improve the racing, and that's fine. But they have a real rude awakening coming over the next few years when TV contract negotiations heat up. They're going to lose a lot of money in that.

NASCAR needs to seriously revamp the points system, put more emphasis on winning races, top-five finishes, leading the most laps, top-ten finishes and etc. And, for the love of god, get rid of the Chase.

Harvick: most points, best average finish. 2nd in points.

The Chase sucks.

The Countdown is just as crappy as The Chase, especially last year.

Wow, what a miraculous change of heart Andy. How do you do it?

That Harvick post is funny. It just shows how flipity flopity you are. And no, those quotes aren't decades old. They're from 2013.

How can you hate 2013 season's chase where Harvick finished not second as you said, but 3rd overall. But you love this one where he would have finished like 5th or something.

Its like you post on automatic and are not even aware of what you write.

So, I mention that I like the new Chase -- announced in late January 2014 -- after deciding to have an open mind about it, and you're going back to 2013 to find posts about me hating the new Chase? LOL fail.

Announced? Did you also made a press conference saying how you used to hate everything NASCAR did less than 2 years ago and now via some miracle, they cant do no wrong?

You shouldn't be challenging people to look up posts from you when you know the drivel you post all the time. It was easy making you look like a fool. Didn't even try.

Explain why the 2013 chase is worse than the 2014 chase.

While you're at it, please make sure to answer the questions I asked in my previous post.

Nice try deflecting though.
