Which big name drivers gets their first win of 2012 next?

Danica's first win will get WAAAAYYYY...(did I say way) more media attention than whoever out of this group gets when they win their next race.
 
Being a faithful Gordon fan, of course I pick him! I'm really hoping and praying that damn Gorilla on his back jumps on Jimmie... or someone.... lol

I picked Gordon also. He really has had some crappy luck this season. They could use a turnaround.

Seriously!!! If he was driving bad and never had a good car it would be one thing, but some of the things which have happened to him have just been unreal in that they keep happening!

I have seen many guys, including Jeff, hit a run of "bad luck" before, but never one quite like the one he is on right now. The good things is the last couple weeks things have improved some what. I was never so happy for a top 10 finish in all my life than I was this past Sunday!

People think Carl is better than he really is. He couldn't win the NW title until the other cup guys ran a short schedule and Carl was up against just David Reutimann and Jason Lefler.

I'm willing to bet that you and Andy have more of an issue with Edwards than Keselowski does - and he's the one one that has to race with him every weekend. It actually looks to me like Keselowski has put all that ugly business behind him - maybe it's time we did as well.

What fun would that be? After watching Brad waive Tony by, then race Carl in the late laps at Homestead makes me think he has zero respect for Carl.

Carl was on Tony's bumper when Brad let him go. Tony was halfway down the front stretch a lap later when Carl got by. It probably would have worked out the same, but we'll never know how it would have turned out if Carl was able to stay in Tonys draft.

Danica Patrick really should be on that list, more people recognize her name than Harvicks or Edwards....maybe even Gordons anymore.

From a notoriety standpoint I agree. She is brilliant at that, and that is an honest compliment, a driver has to know how to get support.



From a driving skills stand point I don't think she's on the same Page. Nor should she be expected to measure up against the three seasoned veterans, while she is learning to drive full bodied cars.



I think there are building blocks,

-become a top 10 racer consistently
-then become a top 5
-keep improving and a win should happen soon.


I think she still has a lot of work to do just to get to being a top 10 performer, and talks of a win is just a dream at the moment.


On the other hand the three drivers listed could win, now.

Edwards had 33 laps to pass Stewart. IMO, the #2 wasn't a factor.

My cousin Blacktooth just happens to be visiting and he has a comments to make regarding Danica being on this poll.



"The reasons Danica ain't on this poll is cause she can't drive, unless you count driving a car into the wall. This pole is for serious accomplished drivers that have already won cup races. It ain't nothing personals some people can, some can't. She could study up on and model (model used a courtesy to help Danica's cult comprehend) Paul Menards, aka big money that bought enough seats time to eventually figure it out. But even in his cases he wasn't as horned up for the wall.



She still has, about 5 years, if it doesn't work by then she can start doing cooking commercials making apple pie, etc.. just like Aunt Bee did.

When Carl was out front, Tony couldn't catch him and get in his draft. That race was all about clean air, and Tony got it for the last run. Those cars were equal, but if Carl was right on Tony's ass getting the draft, who knows who would have gotten out front. In any case, it's very obvious that Brad wasn't 'over it' last fall.

I just watched that video of homestead. Brad did make Carl work for the hard side the hard way. Carl had to do a little sawing on the wheel.
 
I'm sure Edwards will remember that if the tables are turned this year ;)
 
No one needs a win right more then Jeff. He needs to put a movie on his car,seems like the good luck charm. I think Ted would be a good choice. What better then a teddy bear that drinks beer.

I like they way she keeps improving but more name recognition then Gordon, girl still has a ways to go there.

Maybe to the ESPN NASCAR fan that goes a long with all the hype and doesn't pay attention outside of that.
 
Jeff Gordon was fastest in the first practice. That team seems to be on a mission this weekend. They know it's do or die time.
 
The battle for the 10th chase position is going to be very interesting. There's a couple of race winners right on the bubble, and they will probably knock others out of the chase WC spots.
