Which drivers benefit and which drivers will fare worse with the 2021 schedule revamp (and beyond)?

I think you're right in part. Elliott and the #9 are plainly the best in the field on twisties at the moment. However, with it being a much larger part of the schedule, more resources and effort will be devoted to road course programs. It has to. Drivers like Keselowski, Harvick, Logano, both Busches and others have the tools needed to run up front. A few regular drivers don't and never will.

Ironically this would have benefited Bowyer too.
Briscoe will fair well on the road courses.

Chase is really good on the brakes, that is his biggest strength I've noticed. He's able to brake a hair later than most other drivers. Working with guys like Ron Fellows and the Taylor brothers looks as if it's done wonders for all of HMS.

With Larson and Elliott on the same team, it would be cool to see them in the 24 Hours of Daytona in the Corvette GTLM cars as third drivers... Just throwing that out there.

I think we should just save the teams and drivers six weeks next season and just give those six trophies to Chase. I think UPS can have them to his house early AM Friday as long as someone drops them by a ups store tonight.

since clearly he’s already won all 6 of them in 2021 and maybe even the 5 or 6 years that follow, by looking in here...

Someone mentioned the answer. Yes chase is the best right now, but much more effort by teams and drivers will be given to those races next year

Byron would be someone I think can seriously develop road course skills in the next few years, right out of the box he was leading Sonoma before he got shuffled because of stages, he qualified on pole at roval, and ran upfront at glen before the nose crunch under caution. He seems to be sneaky good on the more demanding tracks.

Blaney it helps.

I would expect a Kyle Busch bounce back at some point on road courses as well, giving MTJ and Chase more competition. I would not auto-chalk wins for both of those guy's even though they've been the best lately, there will be increased focus on improving road course program across the board. and new car coming.

Other young guy's helps in the future is Briscoe, Cindric, Bell.

Hurts... Almirola, Bowman, Chastain

I think that yes right now Chadse probably IS the best out there on road courses, but it seems like in general Hendrick cars are all really strong on road courses for whatever reason (Byron for example). I'm sure this is helping Chase there.
Also, I usually try not to expect much of rookies no matter who it is, but Briscoe seems like someone who could come in and maybe sneak out a win on a road course next year, or even Cindric since he is supposed to be in select races.

To be fair there are simply a lot of good plate racers in the field right now.

Dale Earnhardt was so much further ahead on drafting than a lot of his competition in the 90s. And to put a bit of icing on that... RCR did a ton of plate track testing for the simple fact that Dale was good there and liked those places. They were in a league of their own for awhile.

I would rather watch dega and daytona than the Roval races. Watkins Glen is one of my favorite tracks the series runs... but I really don’t get too hyped about the other road races they’ve ran lately. The Roval is surprisingly a let down in my books.

but thats where alot of us will disagree

I agree..

The dirt race benefits Bell, Briscoe and Larson

Road courses mean Chase will probably be guaranteed at least 3-4 wins

While Larson and Bell are obvious with the dirt race, I think it may benefit Stenhouse more than maybe anyone. It will go along with the plate races as his shot to get into the playoffs.

I'm really looking forward to the dirt race. Larson thinks it is going to be like late models but with more power.

He said on the Dale Jr. podcast that it would be similar to a street stock but with more power. Late model engines have 800-850 HP.

His other comments about it were that it will be entertaining and he hopes it works out, he's concerned about the weather in March, and that based on the Truck race at Eldora, the surface will basically turn into a pavement race and that traditional dirt experience won't be as important as people think.

The best measure of my enthusiasm for the Bristol dirt race is that I keep forgetting about it. That didn't happen when the Charlotte Roval was announced, and I'm easily remembering Darlington's Mothers' Day date.

In the same vein

Just put it in your restrictor plate lock box it will be fine.
Unlike the plate races, I have no objection to it yet. I'm just indifferent so far. I expect it will be like the Trucks - lots of attention on the first one, then after a few runs it will be just another date on the schedule (assuming they do it more than once).

I always look forward to the dirt truck race. Never know who is going to win that one. But yeah a steady diet of that would get old fast. The Smith's, can't say enough about the ideas they come up with..and like the Roval, there were so many who said that wouldn't work, I think it took them a couple of years to convince the brass at Nascar to try it..and then lay all that money out for it to happen. I think they need to be in the hall of fame. I think the dirt race is going to be a barn burner. Their are some dirt stars in the series, the best in the world.

The Roval was a home run, and Marcus Smith stuck his neck out for that. Absolutely deserves credit for that one.

The GT-only IMSA addition race to replace Lime Rock was a great idea as well.

I hope it happens again, the double was a great idea.

It usually doesn't happen very often that the son of a successful business man is as shrewd as his dad is...see Brian France, but Bruton's son Marcus Smith is all there. SMI is in good hands.

And that's exactly why I think he'll destroy his car and take himself out of it. I forgot to mention Reddick as well with his late model background.

ya have Briscoe. Friesen who won a truck race, he might get a ride with a lower series team. Probably a lot depends on what it pays.

The Halmar sponsor he has is a multi billion dollar company. A cup car wouldn't even be a mosquito bite on that budget.
