I know there's a thread for all stories about Tony, but I felt this should get it's own thread. After Papis, who will replace Da Smoka? I say Regan Smith, since he's the most proven driver who's available as well.

Also, I want you to put who you BELIEVE should replace Smoke. In that case, I still say Regan Smith.

Regan is in the HMS camp, but Zippy said there are too many split dates coming up.

I dont know maybe coaching Jeb or something

I only said him because for the team to do well til smoke returns is some stablity . A nationwide guy has their focus split and someone who can commit to every race.

Probably Regan Smith for most of the races. Scott Riggs was mentioned as a candidate for Michigan next weekend since he's done oval testing for SHR.

agreed. and I bet Mobil 1/Bass Pro will want somebody they can endorse full-time/no conflicts.

That makes for a very small window. Ward might not actually be a bad choice, if he can get his competition license renewed.

I know AJ has a part-time ride with Phoenix racing, but I see him as a possibility since he isn't focused on getting the NW title.

I think if he is going to be out for a while he should go after Bobby Labonte. Let AJ take the 47. Give bobby a chance to end his career in a decent ride.

he did have the chance, its just no one told him when he left the 18 car his career should have been and was over at that time.

Bobby B. just lost his edge. He now sucks on any ride.

Ambrose and now AJ are doing a great job on that ride.

20 y/o and 26 starts amongst CWTS/NNS? I don't see that happening.

I sure hope it doesn't take away from his championship chance in Nationwide . It would be an incredible achievement for Junior Motorsports, and they owe Stewart nothing.
It reads on that they wont be using a nationwide driver next week because they are in Mid Ohio.. Larson is also being looked at. Ill bet its AJ at Michigan.

Yeah something like that... not sure tho bc the nw guys are in ohio next week.. they might get Larson to travel.. but I'd think AJ or one of the other cup guys.. sponsor has a lot to do with it.. maybe Landon Cassill? lol

I'm not sure what the big deal is with travelling from Ohio to Michigan to run both races as drivers have been doing similar for quite some time

prolly want regan smith ta concentrate on nns road races only.....this weekend an next......ta stay close ta hornish in points. both prolly will pass dillon after next week. ??

I think it will be Regan Smith, but if I could choose it would be Justin Allgier -- he deserves cup time and I dont want Regan being distracted!

I was at the Munchkin shop this morning and the talk there was A.J. after this weekend.
