Well, of all the Roush cars...he's the only one crying. Like it was Stoddard's fault that Jeff couldn't produce. Stoddard is a fine crew cheif yet Burton had to get him fired. Primidonna.

I agree, Stoddard is a fine crew cheif. Burton is also a fine driver, but the combination wasn't working. A change was made, and this time it cost Stoddard his position. Can't say I was happy about that myself, but it happened.

Make no mistake, the 99 team has plenty of off season homework to do. I hope thay are successful.

On the flip side, I hope Stoddard lands someplace where he can show off his skills. It can happen. Take it from me. A few years ago I went through a corporate re-disorganization and found myslef out in the cold. When I landed, the new position was a LOT better that where I had been.

Nonetheless, when things aren't working, you've got to surface and act on the issues the issues. One way or the other.

I hope both of the principle parties benefit from this particular action.

Don't think it will happen.

1996 - Champion: Terry Labonte (Runner-up: Jeff Gordon)
1997 - Champion: Jeff Gordon
1998 - Champion: Jeff Gordon
1999 - Champion: Dale Jarrett (Runner-up:Bobby Labonte)
2000 - Champion: Bobby Labonte
2001 - Champion: Jeff Gordon (Runner-up:Tony Stewart)
2002 - Champion: Tony Stewart (Runner-up: Mark Martin)
2003 - Champion: ?

Seems to be a pattern here. But it never happened twice in a row.:p

:) My choice is Jeff Gordon. He's my favorite and I wanna see him get the elusive 8th champeenship and surppass both Petty and Earnhardt. Heck, he's already half way! LOL
And, I hope he takes the cars he gave the #48 team back!! They got their step up for 2002.

What pattern?Mark Martin has finished 2nd in standing in 1990,1994,1998 & 2002 seasons,according to Ur figures He'd already be the 1991,1995 & 1999 Champion,NOT!:) :D I don't see any pattern here!
PS;Recall that Dale Sr. finished 2nd in points in 1995,but He didn't win the 1996 Cup!

Lisa

I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon till Dale Jr. shows more competitiveness at other tracks than restrictor races,IMOYes,I know that Dale Jr. has won a few races at non-RP tracks but not near enough of them to win the Cup,He'd be doing good to make the Top 10 in standings,JMO!:(
