Who's watching practice?

These cars have fake fake brake duct vents. Lol cars nowadays are silly.

Good to see these ugly bastards on the racetrack though.

Thank you but that's one lap. Who looks like they have good cars?

Tough to say. Gibbs has to be the early favorite. Then again no one drafted as coordinated as they did.

The restrictor plate KING is going to be really hard to pass tomorrow. ..and his teammate is going to be super fast too!!!

Do you know who im talking about???

Its hard to say right now, but like Fordracing said, Brad K is going to be tough to pass tomorrow night.

Not every went out in first round Clash practice, second round they did some drafting , but there wasnt enough to really see who has the best car, but the top three during the drafting part was Brad/Joey/Harvick.

Ok thank You all. That was kinda what I was wanting to know. Appreciate the help. I was with others and had to sneak peeks at my phone. Got in trouble with wife for being on it.

Brad K. As far as I'm concerned, he's the new "plate guy".

A win at Dayona, and how many races at Talladega has he won now?

Looks like the Penske plate cars are picking up where they left off. Brad dominated fall Talladega race until he blew up. Curious to see how SHR will stack up against Penske cars

It's a plate race. What does it matter? Who will work with off turn 4 is what counts.
Matters a lot doesn't it? Cars that handle good in Daytona will be towards the front and stay there. I was curious who looked good in the draft. While what u say is true, you have to be at the front to have that chance and to be up front you must have a good car.

It's a question of which one you think matters more, and of how much you think single-car performance reflects performance under race conditions. We're clearly not on the same side of those lines.

Fake brake ducts, fake grills, fake tail pipes... ya know all the things on a race car.

:micro:

It's just funny because the brake ducts, in particular, are fake on the production cars anyways. It's like fake inception.

Doesn't matter how good your handling is if you lose your help in turn 4 on the last lap. I.E. Matt kenseth last year

The idea of segments here at the plate tracks has grown on me quite a bit, especially for small teams like a Front Row Motorsports who's ran decent on plate tracks but is 25th-30th every week at other tracks. Maybe the cream will rise to the top for lap 60 though.

I'll bet Clint Bowyer is smiling so much, they'll have to duct-tape his face together to keep his head from flopping open.

Cant watch but I checked the leaderboard and right now the Fords are eight out of the top 10 fastest cars in Daytona woohoo

I'm watching, Ford's seem to have speed alone. Bayne setting stop the leader board right now.

But you have to be there at the end to win or get screwed like MK did last year. If car handles like **** or isn't fast, you won't be there. That's is why I wanted to know who ran good in draft practice.

Watching in between doing gardening preps - holy cow, Azalias (sp?) are starting to bloom here in ATL and it's just 2/18 - the rich guys at Augusta National are going to be p!ssed. Of course they will just fly in a bunch of them from Canada :)

My guess is that the Fords are Sand-bagging. Danica was in the top10 in a Ford earlier - that has to tell us something ;)

During the qualifying practice session I heard Larry Mac say the Roush guys were shutting off engines before the start/finish. Now why would you do that? What does qualifying 6 or 7 spots earlier or later do for you?

Id think it is due to all the tape on the grill-if they are doing a mock Qual run. They dont want to give the engine too hot of a supper.

Track Condition.

Should be fascinating qualifying. Pretty sure the Fords are quick alone, but Toyotas hung with them early in the Practice Session. Hard to believe that the Hendrick cars are that slow. Love single car qualifying with so much unknown.
