Why I Like Thermal Cam

I like Thermal Cam because:

  • Fox Trax is not detracting from the race enough, we need Thermal Cam

  • I enjoy watching a bunch of colors instead of the actual scene of cars racing

  • I am unable to comprehend when I am told the track temperature has gone up or down, so seeing a bunc

I have tried to live a good life. What have I done for the cosmos to bring so many distracting bells and whistles as distractions to the things I used to enjoy?

Sadly, that is possible. The networks are missing the whole point.
 
So is the governing body, but I've already beaten that parrticularly stiff horse.
 
At least it wasn't a "all Dale Jr show" as it has been recently. They did give us a few totally unnecessary updates on what they were doing in Dale's pits when he wasn't really a factor at the time, but at least it wasn't sickening.
 
Fortunately, Friday night racing (and more) still exists at local tracks.

I like it becuase its something different. I liked fox trax when it first was out because it was different. Now they use it so much its lost its luster. I bet the same will happen with thermal cam.

How many restarts did they miss entirely because they were at commercial? They even acted like it made no difference at all when they did this.
 
I liked that and Fox Trax!!!

I also like having the camera in the booth showing Mike,Larry and DW. Gives you a good idea what they do up in the booth while they areshowing the racing!
DID you all the notes!!! I bet 3/4 of them were Larry's
 
I like the thermal cam, you can see the groove. And you can see the heat on the track! :)
 
You could also see hot debris that you could nto see with your eye bc it blended into the track

i love that commerical.

its too funny and too realistic in some cases.
 
With about 1hr30min of commericals in a 3 1/2 race we need something to take away more from track time.

I first saw this cam a couple years back in drag racing, to see temps of both guys tyers. Can't tell ya when or where. It was a cool shot when sprague did his woop de woops.

The amount of ads were horrible. They need a handful of sponsers to have a little part of the screen and make it commercial free like the world cup. For people htat haven't seen a world cup game, under the score they have a little box for the sponsers and they rotate every ones in a while. Or with everyone going to have widescreens in the future, use the empty space on the sides for ads, so no commercial breaks. Of course that will be distracting like a banner on the computer.

Also I fine "Crank It Up" very annoying.

800hp v8's screaming past you at 140, for a min or so, thats just about close to heaven as you can get.
 
Well i was at a local Sat. Night track in the Springs area, watching amateur racing at its' best. You know i didn't even miss the race either, we got updates ,i knew it was raining there, and then heard that Front Row Joe had won. Yeh i get sick of all the annoying stuff the Networks do, not just Fox , but all the Networks. They all do it and not in moderation either,to excess they bombard us with commercial after commercial. I watch very little tv, mostly just sports programming , 24, and Fox News(can't stand CNN anymore). Nascar will eventually get a grip on things, i feel the popularity of the sport has accelerated way beyond their fondest dreams, they are riding this wave as long as possible. Who wouldn't, there is money , tons of it to be made,as usual corporate greed has taken over. I feel eventually it will bite them in the a**, but until it does Nascar will continue with their current format. The cam thing they had last night is just another gimmick to attract people that don't know anything about the sport. For us purest it poses another distraction we sadly have to deal with. <_<
