Why I'll always be a fan of stock car racing

Likely. This is a good thread. Makes me wish for 'tona.

You know I respect your fandom. You are a great part of this forum. I always feel like I can take a little jab every now and again because you know I respect your loyalty. Keep bringing it!

I totally know. It takes all kinds, and as you and I have both said, Patrick fans need to relax some and stop taking themselves so seriously.

And this one too … chit happens …

Plate races dont count for much.

The risk factor is off the charts. Drivers hate it, they dont enjoy it at all.

Not a fan of plate racing I guess.

They count but there are times the race is won by someone who I feel lucked into a win … but sometimes its better to be lucky then good … kind of like some of those rain shortened races …

The Daytona 500 purse is the largest of any track. I would say it counts for a lot...

And the way some of y'all talk about NASCAR, you guys should take up a new sport. I can't think of any sports that don't have a playoff though, so, can't offer up any suggestions.

I'll always be a stock car fan because of the regional racing series. I love KOMA and PASS and I can't wait to see what CARS has to offer. It's a great time to be a stock car racing fan. :D

I dont mean money or points wise.

The racing. You just ride along and hope you miss a wreck. Not much goes into it.

I think Edwards said one time that racing at a plate track is just like riding along the interstate & even the lines are the same.

I've always liked cars and it was natural to like racing. I preferred NASCAR because it had cars like the ones in the show rooms (even though there's nothing stock about a stock car - Days of Thunder). And I've learned to like other racing series too.

There's something about plate racing that gets my adrenaline going.

Maybe it's the huge pack of cars with their engines going at full throttle.
